Abstract: A steering system for a steerable flexible elongate member such as for delivering a medical device and/or system. The steering system may be configured for two-way or four-way steering. A control knob is rotatable to control steering of the steerable flexible elongate member in a first direction or a second direction within a steering plane. In a four-way steering system, a first control knob steers the steerable flexible elongate member in a first steering plane, and a second control knob steers the steerable flexible elongate member in a second steering plane transverse to the first steering plane. The steering system may be supported on a stand configured to allow rotational support of the steering system. The stand may support two steering systems in a manner allowing relative axial translation therebetween.

Abstract: Delivery devices for an occlusive implant and method for making and using delivery devices are disclosed. An example delivery device may include a delivery sheath having a proximal region and a laser cut distal tip region. A reinforcing member may extend along the proximal region. The laser cut distal tip region may have one or more laser cuts formed therein that form a patterned distal section. The patterned distal section may be configured to shift between a delivery configuration and an expanded configuration. A core member may be slidably disposed within the delivery sheath. An occlusive implant may be releasably coupled to the core member.

Abstract: A medical device for cutting a suture during a minimally invasive procedure may include an elongate shaft having a proximal end, a distal end, and a central longitudinal axis, a handle disposed at the proximal end of the elongate shaft, the handle including an actuation mechanism, and a cutting blade disposed proximate the distal end of the elongate shaft. The cutting blade is axially translatable within the elongate shaft in response to operation of the actuation mechanism. The elongate shaft includes a distal port to receive a suture. The elongate shaft includes a transverse slot extending inward from an outer surface of the elongate shaft generally perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis. The elongate shaft includes a suture lumen extending from the distal port axially within the elongate shaft to the transverse slot. The cutting blade intersects the transverse slot adjacent the suture lumen.

Abstract: A steerable catheter includes a catheter shaft having a lumen defined by a catheter wall, a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a length extending therebetween, and at least one pullwire extending along the length of the catheter shaft and coupled to the catheter wall. The at least one pullwire has a proximal section extending along the proximal portion of the catheter shaft in a first radial position, a distal section extending along the distal portion of the catheter shaft in a second radial position, and a transition zone connecting the proximal section and the distal section. The second radial position is offset circumferentially from the first radial position.

Abstract: A steerable device and system allowing a steerable elongate member positioned within another steerable tubular elongate member to be steered independently of the steerable tubular elongate member. The steerable tubular elongate member may be steered in a first plane, bending the steerable elongate member therein in the first plane as well. A steering mechanism operatively associated with the steerable elongate member has a distal portion operatively associated with a steerable region of the steerable elongate member to steer such steerable region within a second plane transverse to the first plane. The steering mechanism is independently movable with respect to a portion of the steerable elongate member proximal to the steerable region so as not to affect the orientation of the steerable region to be steered into a second plane transverse to the first plane.
