摘要: An apparatus for controlling a turbogenerator system when a power electronics circuit of the turbogenerator system is unable to provide a sufficient load on the turbogenerator to prevent the turbogenerator from accelerating uncontrollably is described. The apparatus comprises a monitor including a first sensing device operable to detect a condition of the turbogenerator, and a brake controller responsive to a turbogenerator detection output from the first sensing device to issue a first brake control signal for operating a brake circuit to prevent the turbogenerator from accelerating uncontrollably and a second brake control signal for operating the brake circuit to permit resumption of normal operation of the turbogenerator.

摘要: A turbogenerator system for extracting energy from a fluid stream is described. The system comprises a turbogenerator arranged to be driven by the fluid, the turbogenerator comprising a turbogenerator turbine having an inlet for receiving the fluid and an outlet for exhausting the fluid. The turbogenerator further comprises an alternator arranged on an output shaft of the turbogenerator turbine for the conversion of shaft power into electrical power. A control arrangement is provided for controlling operation of the turbogenerator in dependence upon operating conditions for the turbogenerator system.

摘要: Turbomachinery comprising a turbine housing (200) with an engagement formation (210) and a casing (400) for electrical machinery, the casing (400) including an engagement recess (410). Furthermore, the engagement recess (410) comprises a cantilever member (420) and is adapted to receive the engagement formation (210). Finally, the engagement recess (410) and engagement portion (210) are configured such that during operation of said turbomachinery the engagement formation undergoes thermal expansion to expand relative to the engagement recess and exert pressure on the cantilever (member 420). In this way, an improved apparatus for centralising the turbine housing (200) in relation to the casing (400) is provided.
