The method provides the first display panel on a first stage and the second display panel on a second stage. The position of the second display panel is adjustable relative to the first display panel in at least two dimensions. The method can also include disposing the first display panel above the second display panel, aligning the first display panel with respect to the second display panel using an optical device, and adhering the first display panel to the second display panel. The method can be utilized including an apparatus comprising two stages and an optical or sensing system.

    摘要: A flexible filter for use in filtering wavelengths of light that interfere with night vision awareness systems is disclosed. A filtering material is applied to a first flexible film in a substantially liquid form and is cured thereto using ultraviolet light. The filtering material filters wavelengths of light between about 610 and 930 nanometers when cured. A second flexible film is temporarily held in place by a support member. The second flexible film is applied to the cured filtering material and is fused thereto using a combination of increased temperature and pressure for a predetermined time. The first and second flexible films are made of polyurethane.

    摘要: A light emitting diode (LED) night vision imaging system (NVIS) lens apparatus for use in filtering of a plurality of night-mode LEDs is provided. The lens apparatus includes an optical carrier material having a plurality of apertures disposed and arranged such that, when the lens apparatus is coupled to an LED backlight, each of the plurality of apertures allows light from a corresponding day-mode LED to be transmitted therethrough without filtering. The lens apparatus also includes filter material coupled to and supported by the optical carrier material. The filter material is disposed and arranged on the optical carrier material such that, when the lens apparatus is coupled to the LED backlight, light from each of a plurality of night-mode LEDs is filtered by the filter material. Backlight assemblies and displays are also provided.

    摘要: A lamination system for laminating substrates includes a lamination device including an upper member defining an upper cavity and a lower member defining a lower cavity; a pressurization system in communication with the upper cavity and the lower cavity; and a control unit coupled to the lamination device and the pressurization system, the control unit configured to control operation of the lamination device and the pressurization system to generate a vacuum environment within the lower cavity; bring a first substrate into contact with a second substrate; pressurize the upper cavity to a first pressure to move the flexible membrane into contact with the first substrate; move the flexible membrane out of contact with the first substrate; and pressurize the lower cavity to a second pressure higher than the first pressure to apply air pressure at the second pressure to the first and second substrates and form a laminated assembly.

    摘要: An optical component assembly is created with reduced defects in the adhesion and alignment between the optical components. A first rigid optical component is placed into a cavity. A second rigid optical component is placed into the cavity such that it is supported by a first support device which prevents a first end of the second rigid optical component from contacting a corresponding first end of the first rigid optical component. Air is evacuated from a chamber formed between the first and second rigid optical components. The support of the first support device is removed so that the first end of the second rigid optical component comes into contact with the first end of the first rigid optical component with a layer of adhesive material sandwiched therebetween. A force is applied to urge surfaces of the first and second rigid optical components toward one another to improve adhesion between the two.
