    摘要: An apparatus for monitoring the performance of a distributed system is provided. The distributed system comprises a plurality of cooperating units disposed in a communications network. The apparatus comprises a plurality of diagnostic components wherein each unit of the system comprises at least one of the diagnostic components. Each diagnostic component comprises a sensor, a data reduction module, a transceiver and a data analysis module. The sensors sense unit performance characteristics and represent the characteristics as raw data. The data reduction module receives and processes the raw data produced by the sensors to generate reduced data. The transceiver receives the reduced data from the data reduction module and transmits and receives the reduced data to and from the units using the network. The data analysis module accepts and analyzes the reduced data from the transceiver to produce performance data related to the distributed system.

    摘要: Circuits are provided for transmitted reference spread spectrum systems using a noise-like digital sequence with delayed replica. The circuits produce the digital spreading sequences at extremely high speed, and are capable of providing a great degree of signal spreading. A first embodiment is composed of a low speed section and a high-speed section. This embodiment allows for greater power efficiency without sacrificing sequence speed. In addition, the embodiment also allows shaping of the spectrum of the high-speed digital sequence. Further, this embodiment generates an m-sequence and its near delay by storing decimated pieces of the entire m-sequence over a plurality of end-around circulating shift registers or so-called ring counters. The ring counters can be run at low speed and there is no exclusive-oring operation. A time-delayed transmitted reference spread spectrum transmitter is provided using digital noise generators that are capable of very high speed operation.

The processor receives signals output by the machine via a signal conversion element associated with the machine. Systems also include a display device in communication with the processor for providing signatures of the signals received from the signal conversion element. Systems further include a means for identifying, isolating, and capturing a signature from the signatures presented on the display device. The systems also include a means for digitizing and recording the signature as an event kernel, normalizing the event kernel by performing a mean removal, and normalizing the energy to unity on results of the mean removal. Systems further include a storage device for storing normalized event kernels.

    摘要: A non-intrusive physiological data measurement system and method, as well as an optically induced treatment system, are described. The measurement system includes a monitoring mechanism that includes light emitter modules capable of emitting light at at least two wavelengths. The light emitted from the light emitter modules is transmitted through a subject and to a light receiving mechanism, such as an optical sensor. Physiological data is taken from the received light. The system also can ascertain movement of the subject by obtaining an initial outline of the subject and comparing that outline with a subsequently obtained outline. A therapeutic optic system includes a non-adhering light emitting mechanism for providing light at therapeutic wavelengths.

    摘要: An electrical power generation system comprises a variable capacitor and a power source. The electrical power generation system is configured to generate electric power via movements of the rail. The power source is used in the form of a generator to prime the variable capacitor that effectively multiplies the priming energy of the power source by extracting energy from the passing vehicle. By alternately priming the variable capacitor using charge from the power source and discharging it at a later time in a cyclic manner to change the capacitance, a significantly large amount of electrical energy is produced due to change in capacitance than from the power source itself.

For example, ultrasound transmitters are connected to a metal or composite structure and modulated to produce Lamb waves that travel to an ultrasound receiver. The ultrasound transmitters can use frequency-hopped signals to digitally encode transducer information among different transmitters. The transmitters can be operated asynchronously. The receiver can use a channel equalizer to reduce the effects of signal multipath and a decoder to decode the transducer information from the ultrasound transmitters.
