    Abstract: A method for automatically attaching a purpose-built electronic device to a provider network includes steps of discovering, by a Wi-Fi module of the purpose-built electronic device, a wireless data network in operable communication with the provider network selecting, by the Wi-Fi module, the wireless data network, transmitting a primary authentication certificate from the Wi-Fi module to an authentication, authorization, and accounting server of the provider network, receiving, by an application server of the provider network, a secondary authentication certificate from a functionality module of the purpose-built electronic device authenticating, by the provider network, the primary and secondary authentication certificates, and attaching the purpose-built device to the provider network.

    Abstract: A communication network includes a first serving area, a second serving area, a network hub, one or more trunk optical cables, and a first bridging connection. The first serving area includes a first optical switch, a first optical node, and one or more first intra-serving-area (ISA) optical cables communicatively coupling the first optical node to the first optical switch. The second serving area includes a second optical switch, a second optical node, and one or more second ISA optical cables communicatively coupling the second optical node to the second optical switch. The one or more trunk optical cables communicatively couple the first and second optical nodes to the network hub, and the first bridging connection communicatively couples the one or more first ISA optical cables and the one or more second ISA optical cables.

    Abstract: A system for managing content distributed over an electronic network includes a multichannel video programming distributor server for distributing and managing content, and an authorization server for establishing and managing permissions for subscriber access to the content. Each of the servers are in operable communication with the electronic network. The system further includes at least one subscriber device in operable communication with the electronic network. The subscriber device includes a processor, a device memory, and a display, and also an MVPD application stored within the device memory and configured to run on the processor when executed. The MVPD application is configured to display for viewing, upon invocation of a deep link within the MVPD application, content from the multichannel video programming distributor server.
