Abstract: A method includes determining whether a first access point of a plurality of access points and a second access point of the plurality of access points should communicate simultaneously over a shared channel in a first network and in response to determining that one of the plurality of access points won contention of a transmission opportunity for the shared channel, dividing the transmission opportunity into a plurality of time slots. The method also includes scheduling transmissions of the first and second access points into the plurality of time slots according to the determination whether the first and second access points should communicate simultaneously over the shared channel and communicating, to the second access point and over a wired network or a second network different from the first network, an indication of whether the second access point should communicate during a first time slot of the plurality of time slots.

Abstract: Sounding for Multi-Access Point (AP) coordination and, specifically, hybrid staggered and concurrent sounding for multi-AP coordination may be provided. Performing hybrid staggered and concurrent sounding may include coordinating a plurality of APs to perform a hybrid sounding signal process, including determining a sounding frame transmission time and an order for the plurality of APs to stagger sounding signals, and performing the hybrid sounding signal process. An announcement signal may be sent to clients before performing the hybrid sounding signal process. Additionally, channel information may be received from the clients, and AP operation can be determined based on the channel information.

Abstract: Techniques for triggering multiple basic service sets (BSSs) to share resources for a coordinated transmission are described. One technique includes determining a first amount of data available to send in a first BSS and determining a second amount of data available to send in a second BSS. The first BSS and the second BSS form an overlapping BSS. An amount of resources in the first BSS that is available to share with the second BSS for a coordinated transmission from the first BSS and the second BSS is determined based on the first amount of data and the second amount of data. A frame that includes an indication of the amount of resources is generated and transmitted to at least one of the first BSS and the second BSS.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses that a device uses precoding to transmit independent data streams to existing users and additional independent data streams to one or more new users simultaneously. During a first transmission of a first one or more data streams that are precoded using a first precoding matrix, the device determines to transmit a second one or more data streams in a second transmission. Before the first transmission is complete, the device calculates a combined precoding matrix for precoding the first one or more data streams and the second one or more data streams. The device transmits the first one or more data streams in the first transmission and the second one or more data streams in the second transmission simultaneously using the combined precoding matrix.

Abstract: The embodiments herein use a factorization based technique for determining filter coefficients for a subset of the subcarriers in a wireless frequency band. Once the filter coefficients for the subset of the subcarriers are calculated, the network device uses these filter coefficients to identify the filter coefficients in a neighboring subcarrier. To do so, the network device uses pseudo-inverse iteration to convert the already calculated filter coefficients into filter coefficients for a neighboring subcarrier. The network device can repeat this process for the next set of neighboring subcarriers until all the filter coefficients have been calculated.

Abstract: Embodiments herein describe a network device (e.g., an access point) that dynamically arranges multi-user (MU) multiple input multiple output (MIMO) compatible client devices into MU-MIMO groups. That is, the network device uses network metrics and historical data to change the assignment of client devices in the MU-MIMO groups which may improve MU-MIMO efficiency by reducing the amount of power that leaks between the clients devices in the group. In one embodiment, the AP identifies a MU-MIMO group based on a performance evaluation such as evaluating network metric or determining if the group is underutilized. The AP can replace the identified MU-MIMO group with a substitute MU-MIMO group where the substitute MU-MIMO group is selected based on historical data corresponding to the client devices assigned to the substitute MU-MIMO group.
