摘要: Ion-exchanged alkali aluminosilicate glass articles with a ratio of peak compressive stress value to Young's modulus value of 14 or more. The glass articles may include Al2O3 mol %+RO mol %≥18 mol %, where RO mol %=MgO mol %+CaO mol %, and be substantially free of ZnO, SrO, BaO, B2O3, P2O5, Li2O, and K2O. The glass articles may have a peak compressive stress value in a range of 850 MPa to 1400 MPa. The glass articles are suitable for various high-strength applications, including cover glass applications that experience significant bending stresses during use, for example, cover glasses for flexible displays.

摘要: Methods for manufacturing glass articles having a target effective coefficient of thermal expansion CTETeff averaged over a temperature range comprise selecting a glass core composition having an average core glass coefficient of thermal expansion CTEcore that is greater than the target effective CTETeff and a glass clad composition having an average clad glass coefficient of thermal expansion CTEclad that is less than the target effective CTETeff; and manufacturing a glass laminate comprising a glass core layer formed from the glass core composition and two or more glass cladding layers fused to the glass core layer, each of the two or more glass cladding layers formed from the glass clad composition such that a ratio of a thickness of the glass core layer to a total thickness of the two or more glass cladding layers is selected to produce the glass laminate having an effective coefficient of thermal expansion CTEeff that is within ±0.5 ppm/° C. of the target effective CTETeff.

摘要: An article comprises a glass substrate. The glass substrate has a first surface having a plurality of vias therein, and a second surface parallel to the first surface. At least one of the first surface and the second surface is an etched surface having a surface roughness (Ra) of 0.75 nm or less. The glass substrate comprises, in mol percent on an oxide basis: 65 mol %≤SiO2≤75 mol %; 7 mol %≤Al2O3≤15 mol %; 26.25 mol %≤RO+Al2O3−B2O3; 0 mol %≤R2O≤2 mol %. RO=MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO+ZnO. The glass may have a relatively low high temperature resistivity and a relatively high low temperature resistivity.
