Abstract: Fluid connectors assemblies that provide neutral fluid displacement without overlapping connectors are disclosed. A fluid connector assembly may include a housing and a pair of connectors (e.g., luers) coupled with the housing. A compressible member is located within the housing. The first connector and the second connector each include a post with an opening. The compressible member can seal off the opening of the first connector from fluid entry. However, when the post of the second connector is inserted into the housing, the post of the second connector displaces the compressible member, causing the compressible member to create a fluid path, thereby allowing fluid to flow through the internal volume of the housing. Further, the compressible member seals the housing until each of the first connector and the second connector are coupled therewith forming a fluid path through the posts.

Abstract: Check valves are described herein. A check valve includes an inlet body, an outlet body, a valve body, a valve member, and a wiping extension. The inlet body defines an inlet portion. The outlet body defines an outlet portion. The valve body is coupled between the inlet bod and the outlet body. The valve body defines a valve cavity. The valve cavity is in fluid communication with the inlet portion and the outlet portion. The valve member is disposed within the valve cavity. The valve member is configured to permit flow from the inlet portion to the outlet portion and prevent flow from the outlet portion to the inlet portion. The wiping extension extends from the valve body toward the valve member. The wiping extension is movable relative to the valve member to dislodge particulate from the valve member.

Abstract: Syringe adapters are described herein. A syringe adapter includes an adapter body, a coupling portion, and a bulb. The adapter body defines a fluid channel in fluid communication with the syringe and configured to permit medical fluid flow from the syringe through the syringe adapter and a vent channel in fluid communication with the syringe and configured to permit air flow into the syringe. The coupling portion defines an adapter portion configured to be coupled to the adapter body and a syringe portion configured to be coupled to the syringe. The bulb is coupled to the adapter body and defines a bulb volume that is in fluid communication with the fluid channel and is movable between a collapsed configuration configured to displace air from the bulb volume and the fluid channel and an expanded configuration configured to draw medical fluid from the syringe into the fluid channel and bulb volume.

Abstract: Fluid clamps are described herein. A fluid clamp includes a clamp body and a rotating body. The clamp body includes a first and second valve element. Each valve element includes a valve extension portion and a valve end portion extending from the valve extension portion. The first and second valve elements are disposed opposite to each other to allow a tubing to pass between the first and second valve elements. The rotating body is rotatably coupled to the clamp body. The rotation of the rotating body moves the valve end portion of at least one of the first and second valve elements to adjust a flow rate through the tubing.

Abstract: A system for measuring drip rate may include a drip chamber device comprising an elongated body including an inner surface defining a chamber, and a drip rate measurement device. The drip chamber may be fluidly coupled to a container containing an IV fluid configured to drip droplets of the IV fluid into the chamber. The drip rate measurement device may include a housing configured to be mounted to the elongated body of the drip chamber, and a load cell transducer mounted in the elongated body and extending into the chamber. The load cell transducer may be configured to measure a weight of the droplets of the IV fluid and convert the weight into an electrical signal. The drip rate measurement device may further include a controller electrically coupled to the load cell transducer to process the electrical signal and output at least one parameter associated with the IV fluid.
