摘要: A heat integration system for removing heat of reaction from an EC-1 Reactor and generating Chilled liquid for use by one or more Consumer Units, in a catalytic process for producing EC from EO for conversion into MEG wherein the system comprises an EC-1 Reactor Cooler suitable for removing heat from an EC-1 Reactor, an Intermediate Loop which is in communication with the Reactor Cooler and with an absorption Refrigeration Unit, and which is suitable for conducting Intermediate liquid therebetween, the absorption Refrigeration Unit being suitable for generating Chilled liquid,and a Chilled liquid loop suitable for conducting Chilled liquid generated in the absorption Refrigeration Unit for use by one or more Consumer Units,the system being such that the absorption Refrigeration Unit uses heat generated in the EC-1 Reactor to generate Chilled liquid for the Chilled liquid loop and Consumer Unit(s),wherein the system additionally comprises a Shutdown Cooler having an independent cooling source which is suitable, alternatively or in addition to the absorption Refrigeration Unit, for removing heat from the EC-1 Reactor,and wherein the system additionally comprises an independent stand-by source of Chilled liquid which is suitable, alternatively or in addition to the absorption Refrigeration Unit, for generating chilled liquid, to serve the one or more Consumer Units; a control system for use in the heat integration system; a two phase separator for separating two phase flow in a side draw from the EC-1 Reactor in a first compartment providing liquid recycle to EC-1 and a second compartment providing a two phase flow to a second EC Reactor EC-2, such that the two phase flow to EC-2 Reactor is stable, the separator being suitable for use in the process and the heat integration system.

摘要: A gas-liquid contacting tray suitable for horizontal mounting in a normally vertical column, which tray comprises a tray plate with substantially circular circumference and having top and bottom surfaces, which tray plate is provided with passages for gas between the bottom and the top surface, and on which tray plate two semi-circular tray sections are defined by a virtual diametrical line of the tray plate; and a total of three downcomers for guiding liquid from the top surface of the tray plate to below the tray, each downcomer extending from an inlet opening arranged in the tray plate to a downcomer outlet opening below the tray, wherein two of the downcomers are arranged in the corners of one of the semi-circular tray sections, and wherein the third downcomer is arranged on the other tray section substantially along a radius of the tray that is perpendicular to the diametrical line.

摘要: The invention provides a process for removing carbon dioxide from a gas stream comprising the steps of: (a) contacting the gas stream with an absorption solvent to obtain a gas stream with a reduced carbon dioxide content and a carbon dioxide-containing absorption solvent; (b) withdrawing at least part of the gas stream with the reduced carbon dioxide content; (c) withdrawing at least part of the carbon dioxide-containing absorption solvent obtained in step (a) and heat it to obtain a mixture comprising a gas phase, an aqueous liquid phase and a non-aqueous liquid phase, wherein carbon dioxide is predominantly present in the gas phase; (d) introducing at least part of the mixture obtained in step (c) into a gas lift reactor to further release carbon dioxide absorbed in the aqueous liquid phase and the non aqueous liquid phase, whereby the gas phase establishes circulation and mixing of the aqueous liquid phase and the non-aqueous liquid phase between a lower section of the gas lift reactor and an upper section of the gas lift reactor; (e) withdrawing a gas stream comprising carbon dioxide from the gas lift reactor; (f) withdrawing a mixture of the aqueous liquid phase and the non-aqueous liquid phase from the gas lift reactor, which mixture has released carbon dioxide, and (g) cooling at least part of the mixture of the aqueous liquid phase and the non-aqueous liquid phase to obtain regenerated absorption solvent.

摘要: A gas-liquid contacting column is described with a number of axially spaced trays, each having two sections separated along a diametrical line on the tray, and having a number of parallel rectangular downcomers, open at the upper end and closed at the bottom end, which has a number of liquid discharge openings, and a number of liquid receiving areas with bubble area between them. The liquid receiving area is positioned just below the downcomer of a consecutive tray just above. The downcomers extend from the diametrical line to the circumferential of the tray such that the ends of the downcomers of the two tray sections are positioned along the diametrical line in an alternating manner, wherein the area of the liquid discharge openings per downcomer length as viewed from below and close to the diametrical line is less than that as viewed from below.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method of treating a liquefied natural gas (LNG) stream, the method at least comprising the steps of: (a) supplying a stream comprising LNG as at least two separate streams to a vessel comprising a contacting zone, a first stream being fed above the contacting zone and a second stream being fed below the contacting zone; (b) supplying a stream comprising an inert fluid to the vessel; (c) contacting at least the first stream supplied in step (a) with the stream supplied in step (b) in the contacting zone, thereby obtaining an LNG stream being enriched in inert fluid; and (d) removing the LNG stream obtained in step (c) from the vessel.
