摘要: In another embodiment, a TPV composition includes an ethylene based copolymer, a thermoplastic polyolefin, and one or more of an oil or a plasticizer. The ethylene based copolymer has an Mw of from 400,000 g/mol to 3,000,000 g/mol, a Mw/Mn of 10 or less, and a g′vis of 0.7 or more. An amount of the one or more of an oil or a plasticizer in the TPV composition is from 10 parts by weight to 200 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the ethylene based copolymer, and the TPV composition has an extrusion surface roughness that is from 50 μin to 120 μin. In another embodiment is provided a method of forming a TPV composition. In another embodiment is provided a method of forming an article that includes a TPV composition. In another embodiment is provided an article that includes a TPV composition.

摘要: In an embodiment, a thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) composition is provided. The TPV composition includes a thermoplastic polyolefin; and an ethylene based copolymer rubber, wherein the ethylene based copolymer rubber has: a Mw of from 500,000 g/mol to 3,000,000 g/mol, a Mw/Mn of 4.0 or lower, and a g′vis of 0.90 or greater. In another embodiment, a TPV composition includes a thermoplastic phase and an ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer, wherein the thermoplastic vulcanizate composition has: a hardness of from 20 Shore A to 60 Shore D; and a stress relaxation slope of −1 to −5 (l/min) as measured by an Elastocon stress relaxation instrument.

In another embodiment is provided a process for preparing a TPV composition, the process includes melt processing under shear conditions at least one thermoplastic polyolefin, at least one rubber, and at least one curing agent, the at least one thermoplastic polyolefin comprising polymethylpentene; and forming a TPV composition.

The thermoplastic phase comprises a thermoplastic polyolefin, and the rubber phase comprises an amorphous propylene-ethylene copolymer having: a Mn of from 20 kg/mol to 3,000 kg/mol, a Mw/Mn of 10.0 or lower, an ethylene percentage by weight of from about 2 wt. % to about 50 wt. %, a diene percentage by weight of from about 0 wt. % to about 21 wt. % and a heat of fusion of less than 5 J/g.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a thermoplastic vulcanizate including a polypropylene and a copolymer. The copolymer may have an ethylene content, a propylene content, and an a, α,ω-diene content. The thermoplastic vulcanizate has a shore hardness of about 20 Shore A or greater. Alternatively, a thermoplastic vulcanizate may include a polypropylene and an elastomeric polymer and have a shore hardness of about 50 MPa or greater, a tensile strength at yield of about 18 MPa or greater, and an oil swell of about 15% weight gain or less. Additionally, the present disclosure relates to processes for producing thermoplastic vulcanizates. A process may include introducing a catalyst and propylene to a first reactor to form a first polymer, and introducing the first polymer, ethylene, at least one α,ω-diene, and optionally additional propylene to a second reactor to form an impact copolymer. The process may further include crosslinking the impact copolymer.
