摘要: An approach to printing a nickel precursor ink on a wide range of substrates for electronics and magnetic applications is disclosed. The nickel ink reduces to elemental nickel following heating. The ink was printed using an ultrasonic aerosol printing technique. By sintering the nickel precursor ink in the presence of a homogeneous magnetic field, the reduced nickel complex formed continuously aligned nickel nanofibers axially aligned with the direction of the magnetic field. The fabrication of aligned interlayered nanofiber films provides opportunities to produce structures with enhanced isotropic electrical and magnetic properties. The resistivity of the film was found to be as low as 0.56 mΩ·cm, and the saturation magnetization was measured to be 30 emu/g, which is comparable to bulk Ni. Magnetic anisotropy was induced with an easy axis along the direction of the applied magnetic field with soft magnetic properties.

摘要: A package of thermographic or photothermographic materials has a primary packaging enclosure, and optionally a secondary packaging enclosure, containing one or more of the materials (such as individual sheets). A non-photosensitive indicator device is associated with either or both of the packaging enclosures. This non-photosensitive indicator device is adapted to provide a visually observable indication of a predetermined cumulative thermal exposure and a predetermined temperature event (that is, single temperature event) of the package. This indicator device is able to provide information as to the time-temperature history of the package.

摘要: An article comprising a substrate and a patterned electrically conductive metal phase, wherein the electrically conductive metal phase is selectively deposited on the substrate via sequential or simultaneous ink jetting of combinations of a reducible soluble metal salt, a reduction catalyst and a reducing agent. On substrates having layered structures, the selectively deposited electrically conductive metal phase is intertwined with the substrate microstructure. A method of forming the same is also provided. In a particular embodiment of the method, the selective deposition of the electrically conductive phase onto the substrate comprises a first jetting of a composition comprising the reducible soluble metal salt and the reduction catalyst in a predetermined area followed by a subsequent jetting of a composition comprising the reducible metal salt and the reducing agent over the same predetermined area.
