摘要： A security system for electronic devices such as computers that advantageously combines a conventional chassis assembly with an entrapment system that integrally inhibits unauthorized removal of not only the device, but also its internal components. The integrated security system preferably comprises an electronic device having a chassis and a cover attachable to the chassis, a security base plate, a first plurality of locking members attached to the base plate or the chassis, a second plurality of locking members formed in the base plate or the chassis and cover, the second plurality of locking members being adapted to receive and capture a separate one of the first plurality of locking members to secure the device to the base plate and to integrally lock the cover to the chassis while the device remains secured to the base plate, and a lock operably coupled to the device and the base plate to prevent removal of the device from the base plate.

摘要： An irrigator/aspirator surgical probe for laparoscopic surgery includes a rotatable handle assembly and a probe assembly having an electrosurgical electrode. The handle assembly has two valves, one for controlling the flow of irrigation fluid and one for controlling the flow of aspiration fluid. One of the valves can be locked at any selected setting with a locking lever. Fine adjustment of the valve is achieved in the locked position. The handle assembly further includes a valve body and valve members which are easily removable and disposable. The valve members in the valve body are made of an elastomeric material to provide effective sealing and inherent self return. The probe assembly can be rotated relative to the handle assembly as needed to reduce operator fatigue. The probe can be rotated in the probe assembly to position the electrode.

摘要： A surgical aspirator cannula including an elongated body having a distal end, a distal end port, a proximal end, a proximal end port and an aspirator conduit passing longitudinally therethrough. A cannula is removably secured to the distal end and when secured its cannula tip opening communicates through the cannula passageway with the distal end port. The proximal end of the body member is connected to a vacuum pump. A ball valve assembly is mounted in the body member in the aspiration conduit, and is operated by a hand-operated lever, knob or button supported on the body member. When the lever is then operated the valve assembly is selectively opened or closed to selectively communicate the source of vacuum with the distal end port and thus the cannula. The cannula has its proximal end fitted into a ferrule which fits into an adaptor that is screwed into the distal end portion of the body member. Then when the cannula nut is screwed onto the adaptor by twisting a cannula key fitted onto it, the ferrules will grip the cannula thereby securing it in place.

Integrally formed channels on the external surface of the housing form three sides of various fluid flow passages within the cassette. A plastic gasket adhered to the cassette seals the channels and forms the fourth side of the fluid flow passages. A self-winding peristaltic pump tube extending from the housing cooperates with a slotted peristaltic pump roller head in the console and an internal capacitance chamber within the irrigation conduit reduces pressure fluctuations in the irrigation fluid flow.

摘要： An improved surgical method and apparatus using laser energy for destroying body tissue which includes a surgical handpiece including a surgical tip assembly which is driven by means of laser to achieve optical breakdown, plasma formation and shockwave generation to emulsify or destroy body tissue. The surgical tip assembly includes a laser fiber, a focusing means to enhance optical breakdown of tissue or fluid caused by laser energy transmitted through the laser fiber and an emulsification tip that is resonate tuned to vibrate in response to shockwaves produced by the optical breakdown caused by the laser energy. The emulsification tip and focusing means are configured in a spaced relationship to form an acoustic resonating chamber which further emulsifies body tissue and facilitates mixing of tissue with irrigation fluid.
