摘要： The scrub-resistant properties of water-based latex paint compositions are readily improved by incorporating into such paint compositions an effective minor amount of an alkoxylate obtained by alkoxylating the alkylation reaction products formed by the acid catalyzed alkylation of a phenolic compound with styrene or a substituted styrene, the alkoxylate being further characterized as containing from about 6 to about 30 alkoxy units per molecule.

摘要： The systems and methods described herein relate to the measurement of nitrate levels in a sample of gas, for example, air, exhaust, or other sources of gas. Moreover, the systems and methods described herein are capable of operating using short sample collection periods, permitting rapid data collection and finely time-resolved nitrate monitoring over a span of time. Additionally, ambient nitrate can effectively be distinguished from other airborne particles, such as sulfate and carbon.

摘要： A method for improving the dyeing characteristics of textile materials containing polyolefin fibers is provided wherein the polyolefin fibers are coated with a coating composition consisting essentially of a film forming component containing at least one quaternary ammonium group. A preferred coating composition useful in the practice of the invention further includes a wetting agent and a minor effective amount of a fluorocarbon surfactant. Procedure for forming such coating compositions, application of same to polyolefin fibers, as well as dyeing of the coated polyolefin fibers is disclosed.In one embodiment the film forming component is the reaction product of a chemical substance containing at least one quaternary ammonium group and at least two amino groups having active hydrogen and a polyepoxide having at least two 1,2-epoxy groups per molecule. A method for producing such a film forming component and application of same to a textile material containing polyolefin fibers is also set forth.

摘要： A label applicator for labeling articles moving along a path which includes a label retaining device for retaining labels at a label retaining station, a label dispenser for dispensing labels onto the label retaining device, a rotatable wheel for use in orienting articles at the label retaining station, a label transfer device for blowing a leading portion of the label on the label retaining means onto an article at the label retaining station while allowing a trailing portion of the label to remain on the label retaining device so that movement of the article past the label retaining station pulls the trailing portion of the label from the label retaining device, and a label wrap device downstream of the label retaining station for applying the trailing portion of the label to the article.
