    摘要: A multi-domain vertically aligned liquid crystal display includes an active element array substrate, an opposite substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the two substrates. The active element array substrate has a plurality of pixel units. Each pixel unit has a pixel electrode and the pixel electrode includes a first alignment pattern and a second alignment pattern. The opposite substrate includes a plurality of common electrodes and each common electrode includes a third alignment pattern and a fourth alignment pattern. The liquid crystal layer proximal each pixel unit is divided into a first domain set and a second domain set, wherein the first alignment pattern and the third alignment pattern correspond to the first domain set, and the second alignment pattern and the fourth alignment pattern correspond to the second domain set.

The first BEF has a first light-collecting direction. The second BEF has a second light-collecting direction perpendicular to the first light-collecting direction. The first light-collecting direction is parallel or perpendicular to the diffractive direction or the first absorption axis.

    摘要: A liquid crystal panel module, a backlight module and a liquid crystal display (LCD) are provided. The liquid crystal panel module includes a liquid crystal panel and a diffraction grating layer. The liquid crystal panel has a plurality of pixels. The diffraction grating layer is disposed on the liquid crystal panel, and a maximum period of a grating of the diffraction grating layer is smaller than 1/10 of a size of the pixels. The backlight module includes a light guide plate, a light emitting element and a diffraction grating film. A light provided by the light emitting element emits from a light emitting surface of the light guide plate and is bended towards the light emitting element after passing through the diffraction grating film. The liquid crystal panel module and the backlight module can be applied to the LCD together or individually.

Each pixel further includes at least one first transparent electrode as the common electrode and at least one second transparent electrode as the pixel electrode both formed on one of the same first and second substrates, wherein substantial fringe fields with rich horizontal electric fields are generated in the liquid crystal layer when voltage is applied to the pixel electrode, making the liquid crystal molecules rotate mainly in the horizontal direction to achieve wide viewing angle.
