Further, the cholesteric liquid crystal film includes a first region, a second region, and a third region, and the first region is adjacent to the top surface of the cholesteric liquid crystal film, the third region is adjacent to the bottom surface of the cholesteric liquid crystal film, and the second region is located between the first and third regions, and the average helical pitch P1 of the first region and the average helical pitch P3 of the third region are both larger than the average helical pitch P2 of the second region.

    摘要: A color filter having a bi-layer metal grating is formed by nanoimprint lithography. Nanoimprint lithography, a low cost technology, includes two alternatives, i.e., hot-embossing nanoimprint lithography and UV-curable nanoimprint lithography. Manufacture steps includes providing a substrate with a polymer material layer disposed thereon. A plurality of lands and grooves are formed in the polymer material layer, and a first metal layer and a second metal layer are disposed on the surfaces of the lands and grooves, respectively. Finally, a color filter having a bi-layer metal grating is obtained.

    摘要: A display material and method and device thereof are provided. The display material is first formed by evenly mixing appropriate weight ratios of DFLCs, incurable nanoparticles, curable nanoparticles, and a photoinitiator. Next, the evenly mixed mixture is disposed between two parallel conducting transparent substrates, wherein an electrical field is conducted thereto and the DFLCs therein aligned to the direction of the applied electrical field. Concurrently, under the applied electrical field, some curable nanoparticles within the evenly mixed mixture, form short nano chains, initiating the photo initiator. The frame structure of short nano chains stabilize both the clear and scattering states, thereby the bistable characteristic was improved and the contrast ratio was enhanced as applied to bistable displays.

    摘要: A bi-stable projection screen includes a light diffusion unit and a bi-stable display unit stacked together. The bi-stable display unit, when actuated, selectively operates in a first mode or a second mode. When operating in the first mode (e.g., a transmission mode or a reflection mode), the bi-stable display unit receives a projection light from a front projection or a rear projection, and emits the projection light after modulation. When operating in the second mode (a non-transmission mode or a non-reflection mode), the bi-stable display unit is a pattern to become a part of a scene. The light diffusion unit receives and diffuses the modulated projection light to be perceived by human eyes.
