Abstract:
A gas bag module for a motor vehicle steering wheel includes a gas bag (10), a gas generator (12) mounted so as to be capable of swinging, a generator carrier (16), means (18) for bracing the gas bag (10) on the generator carrier (16), and an elastically deformable, in relation to the central axis (A) of the gas bag module encircling sealing element (24). The sealing element (24) is fastened by its free edges directly or indirectly to the gas generator (12) and to the generator carrier (16), respectively. A section (26) of the sealing element (24), which is free before a filling of the gas bag (10), is deflected by the pressure occurring in the interior of the gas bag on filling of the gas bag (10), so that it comes directly or indirectly in abutment with a support surface (22; 28).
Abstract:
A vehicle interior decor element, in particular an air bag cover, comprising a front side (36) facing the vehicle interior and an opposite rear side (34), a cover (18) and a decorative element (20) which is provided at the cover (18), is visible from the front and is at least partly translucent. The decorative element (20) includes sections (24) between which the decorative element (20) has a gap (26) through which the cover (18) is accessible from the front side (36). The decorative element (20) extends with at least one portion (44) thereof towards the rear side (34) towards or into a cavity (42) which is formed in the cover (18) and in which an illuminant (50) for illuminating the decorative element (20) is accommodated.
Abstract:
A gas bag module for a vehicle occupant restraint system includes a gas bag (12) and a discharge arrangement (18). The discharge arrangement (18) has a unit able to be activated (26) by a control arrangement (19) for selectively providing a discharge opening. The unit able to be activated (26) is arranged on a mounting (24) which performs a hinge function upon activation of the unit (26).
Abstract:
A gas bag module has a housing, which comprises a cover part, at least one side wall that is joined to the cover part, and a base section that is joined to the side wall. The housing opens along a plurality of predetermined separation lines when the gas bag module is activated, to allow the emergence of a gas bag. The separation lines run across the cover part, the side wall and/or and the base section such that, after activation of the gas bag module, the housing becomes separated into parts along the separation lines into a plurality of segments that are not directly connected to each other. Each segment includes a section of the cover part, the side wall and the base section.
Abstract:
An assembly comprises a steering wheel and a gas bag module held in a hub region of the steering wheel, the gas bag module being movable in an axial direction of the steering wheel for actuating a horn. The assembly further comprises at least one restoring element having at least one elastic section. The elastic section exerts onto the gas bag module a restoring force acting against an actuating force for the horn. The elastic section extends between a module housing and a fastening for the restoring element provided in the hub region of the steering wheel. The elastic section is securely and non-displaceably connected at one end with the module housing and at another end with the fastening in the hub region. The elastic section has between the ends a contact section which forms an electric horn contact.
Abstract:
A method for series production of a vehicle assembly, especially an interior assembly, including a vehicle-side support, especially a vehicle steering wheel (12), and a component to be fastened at the support, especially a horn module (14), wherein a module-side bearing unit (22) consisting of at least two bearing members (46, 50) is assigned to the component and/or a support-side bearing unit (24) consisting of at least two bearing members (26, 28) is assigned to the support, and wherein one of the bearing members (28, 50) of the respective bearing unit (22, 24) has a contact surface (34, 58) and the other one of the bearing members (26, 46) has at least one bearing surface (38, 54) includes the step of individually orientating the two bearing members (26, 28, 46, 50) of at least one bearing unit (22, 24) relative to each other as a function of the actual dimensions of the support installed and/or the component installed, fastening the two bearing members (26, 28, 46, 50) orientated relative to each other, and fastening the component to the support. The position of the support and the component relative to each other is defined by at least one bearing unit (22, 24).
Abstract:
A gas bag module adapted for use in a vehicle occupant restraint system comprises an inflatable gas bag and a discharge opening associated with the gas bag, so that gas can flow off from the gas bag which is fully or partially inflated. Further, the module comprises a discharge control element to control an opening cross-section of the discharge opening. The discharge control element contains a dilatant material.
Abstract:
A gas bag module for a vehicle occupant restraint device includes a rigid component (10). The rigid component (10) has a discharge opening (12) formed therein through which gas can escape. The discharge opening (12) is covered by a flat covering part (14). The flat covering part (14) includes an extensible material and has at least one hole (16).
Abstract:
A vehicle steering wheel includes a gas bag module which has a gas generator (14) for filling a gas bag. The steering wheel has at least one discharge opening (12; 34) formed in a rigid component (10) of the steering wheel or of the gas bag module, through which opening gas generated by the gas generator (14) can partially discharge. The steering wheel further includes at least one electrically controllable closure element (14; 26; 28), by which the discharge opening (12; 34) can be opened. The closure element (14; 26, 28) is designed and controllable such that it is movable several times into an open position and into a closure position.
Abstract:
An airbag module comprising a gas generator support is distinguished in that arranged on the gas generator support (26) is a plate spring (10) which comprises a continuous ring-shaped inner section (12) and several arms (14). The arms each have a first end (14a) formed on the inner section (12) and a second, free end (14b) which is bent away axially with respect to a central axis (16) of the plate spring (10). The arms (14) are elastically deformable under axial pressure. There is further proposed an assembly comprised of a steering wheel and such airbag module.
