摘要: Systems, methods, and devices are provided for creating and applying electrodes and electrode systems to a wound or skin. An electrode may be applied as a single electrode strip using a dispenser. An electrode may also be cut to size from a single sheet of electrode. Additionally, an electrode may be formed from a plurality of electrode segments which may be connected together. Electrodes can also be incorporated as part of drainage tubes. A medical electrode kit may be provided that includes multiple electrode segments and connectors, multiple electrodes, and multiple control modules. In addition, electrodes or electrode systems may be provided with a color scoring chart. An electrode system may be configured to interface with a selected body part. Electrode systems may include sensors and electrodes configured for application to areas outside of a wound or the skin intended to be treated.

摘要: An electrode system is provided that generates a current flow that envelops and permeates an entire wound site. The electrode system includes two electrodes that are shaped and oriented to cause the current to flow from one electrode through the wound to the other electrode. A first electrode is applied to the wound site and the second electrode encircles the first electrode and is applied to the skin surrounding the wound cite. The two electrodes may be mounted to an oxygen-permeable layer that provides support for the electrodes and allows the wound site to breathe. An electrically insulative element may be disposed between the two electrodes. A power supply, which may be local to or remote from the electrode system, is provided for applying a voltage potential across the electrodes. In another suitable embodiment, the two electrodes are comprised of oppositely charged polymers.

摘要: Electrode systems and methods are provided for applying electrical stimulation to a wound or skin. The electrode systems may include a feedback sensor configured to detect at least one wound healing factor or other treatment factors and may adjust the electrical stimulation based on feedback sensor measurements. The electrode systems may include multiple center electrodes for attachment to the wound. Multiple therapies may be stored on the electrode systems and a selected one of the stored therapies may be applied. A timer may be included to indicate the length of time a therapy has been applied. The electrode system may include a control module configured as a flexible circuit which conforms to the shape of the wound or the skin to which it is applied. In addition, a medical kit may be supplied for use in applying therapies, including multiple control modules and multiple electrodes.

摘要: A delivery mechanism for an implantable stent which provides a high mechanical advantage to the surgeon and convenient operation so as to facilitate smooth withdrawal of an outer catheter sheath following placement of the stent in the desired location within the patient's vessel. Preferred embodiments include a moving rail actuated by a V-shaped lever, a hydraulic actuator, a rack and pinion drive, and a power screw system. The delivery mechanism has a movable member that is attached to the outer catheter sheath so that actuating the mechanism results in an incremental movement of the moveable member, which in turn results in an incremental movement of the outer catheter sheath. Once the outer catheter sheath is retracted from the stent, the stent is deployed into the patient's vessel and the remaining parts of the mechanism, including an inner tube, an atraumatic tip, and a stabilizing element, are easily removed.
