Abstract: A smart entry system that releases a lock of an opening/closing body includes: a transmission unit that transmits a call signal to a mobile key by wireless communication; a reception unit that receives a response signal from the mobile key responding to the call signal; and a control unit that outputs a call signal transmission command to the transmission unit, performs authentication of the response signal when the reception unit receives the response signal, and outputs a command for unlocking the opening/closing body based on a result of the authentication. The call signal is transmitted by a polling system. The control unit includes an output strength setting unit that changes and sets an output strength of the call signal.

Abstract: A positioning system includes a vehicular exterior communication device and a positioning device. The vehicular exterior communication device has an antenna and a strength detector. The antenna is disposed at a side surface portion of the vehicle that receives a wireless signal transmitted from the portable terminal. The strength detector detects reception strength of the wireless signal received by the antenna. The positioning device determines whether the portable terminal is present at an operating area based on vehicular exterior device strength as the reception strength of the wireless signal from the portable terminal detected by the vehicular exterior communication device. The vehicular exterior communication device is disposed under a door of the vehicle in a posture in which a center of directivity of the antenna faces upward or downward.

Abstract: A vehicle system comprises an onboard apparatus that is mounted to a vehicle, and a portable device. The vehicle system controls the vehicle according to a result of collation using wireless communication in which a signal is transmitted and received on electric wave, between the onboard apparatus and the portable device. The onboard apparatus includes a vehicle-side transmission processor that transmits a first signal which specifies signal intensity information and, following transmission of the first signal, transmits a second signal having a signal intensity, the signal intensity information being information on the signal intensity of the second signal. The portable device includes a portable device-side reception antenna that receives a signal transmitted from the vehicle-side transmission antenna, a signal intensity measurement portion, and a reply determiner that determines whether a replay is performed to the onboard apparatus for the collation.

Abstract: A car finder system has a portable terminal that receives a preset operation performed thereon for wirelessly transmitting a preset car finder instruction. A communication device of the car finder system receives the preset car finder instruction from the portable device, and repeatedly transmits a preset car finder signal to an in-vehicle device, which is disposed in a vehicle. The in-vehicle device performs an external notification operation when it receives the preset car finder signal. Abstract: An on-board apparatus control system comprising a portable device and a vehicle-mounted device is provided. The vehicle-mounted device controls an on-board apparatus by determining whether or not the portable device exists in an authorized area. The vehicle-mounted device causes separate transmission antennas to transmit a request signal and a determination signal, respectively. Responding to the request signal, the portable device transmits a response signal that includes information on a received strength of the determination signal. When the received signal strength of the determination signal is greater than a specified value, the vehicle-mounted device controls the on-board apparatus on assumption that the portable device exists in an unauthorized area even when the response signal is received.
