Abstract: Provided are alumina particles containing molybdenum and with their shape controlled. The alumina particles contain phosphorus and molybdenum. The alumina particles are preferably plate-like or card house-like. The phosphorus is preferably unevenly distributed in surface layers of the alumina particles. Also provided are a resin composition containing the alumina particles and a resin, a molded body made by molding the resin composition, and a method for producing the alumina particle including a step of firing the aluminum compound in the presence of a molybdenum compound and a phosphorous compound.

A photothermal conversion material according to the invention contains a material containing molybdenum sulfide particles and generates heat by absorbing light energy.

Abstract: Provided are a tabular alumina particle and a method for manufacturing it, wherein the particle has a major axis of 30 μm or more, a thickness of 3 μm or more, and an aspect ratio of 2 to 50 and contains molybdenum; and the method includes the steps of mixing an aluminum compound of 10% by mass or more in a form of Al2O3, a molybdenum compound of 20% by mass or more in a form of MoO3, a potassium compound of 1% by mass or more in a form of K2O, and silicon or a silicon compound of less than 1% by mass in a form of SiO2, where total amount of raw materials is assumed to be 100% by mass in forms of oxides, so as to produce a mixture and firing the resulting mixture.

Abstract: A manufacturing device includes a first gas inlet that is disposed closer to a first end of a firing furnace and introduces gas into the firing furnace, a gas outlet that is disposed closer to a second end of the firing furnace and discharges gas inside the firing furnace to the outside, and a transport device that transports a metal compound and a flux from a point closer to the gas outlet to a point closer to the first gas inlet. The firing furnace has a heating region, a cooling region, and a reaction region that is defined between the heating region and the cooling region and in which the metal compound and the flux react. The manufacturing device utilizes airflow generated by the gas introduced through the first gas inlet to convert the flux vaporized in the reaction region into powder in the cooling region and to deliver gas containing the powder of the flux to the gas outlet.

A method for producing the niobium oxide particles described above includes calcining a niobium compound in the presence of a molybdenum compound.
