Abstract: Polyurethane foams are made by curing a reaction mixture that contains an aromatic polyisocyanate, at least one isocyanate-reactive material having an average functionality of at least 2 and an equivalent weight of at least 200 per isocyanate-reactive group, at least one blowing agent, at least one surfactant, at least one catalyst, and certain aldehyde-suppressing additives. Foams so produced emit low levels of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde and propionaldehyde.

Abstract: A polyurethane composition, comprising (A) an isocyanate compound; (B) a polyol compound; and (C) an amine-based catalyst system comprising (C1) at least one amine-based catalyst and (C2) at least one deodorant represented by Formula (1) or Formula (2), is provided. The polyurethane foam prepared by using said polyurethane composition exhibits extremely low odor intensity and superior performance properties, e.g. foaming degree and mechanical strength. A method for preparing a polyurethane foam with reduced odor is also provided.

Abstract: A polyurethane composition is provided. The polyurethane composition comprises (A) one or more prepolymers prepared by reacting at least one isocyanate compound with a first polyol component; and (B) a second polyol component; wherein at least one of the first polyol component and the second polyol component comprises an ester/ether block copolymer polyol synthesized by reacting a starting material polyether polyol with a C4-C20 lactone. The foamed or non-foamed polyurethane product prepared by using the polyurethane composition can achieve inhibited internal heat buildup, high thermal stability, improved curing speed, light stability, heat stability and superior mechanical strength. A method for preparing the polyurethane composition and a method for improving the performance property of the polyurethane product are also provided.
