摘要: A display apparatus 200, a display controller 222, and a method for optimizing a displayed image for use in an electronic device 100 comprising a display 208 for presenting a visual image, a processor 212 for determining the intensity of a backlight 216 used for illuminating the display 208 and a controller 202 that optimizes the visual image corresponding to the intensity of the backlight 216 are described. As the intensity of the backlight 216 is reduced, the brightness of the pixels 210 is increased to compensate the image when, for example, the backlight intensity is reduced to save power. The method and apparatus are also described for compensating for uneven backlight 216 conditions.

摘要: A method is provided for on-demand communications in a communication network with support for a plurality of communication units participating in a common communication, which includes multiple signal initiators, each supplying a signal, which are virtually simultaneously conveyed as part of the common communication. At least one example of an on-demand communication includes push to talk. Additionally, a signal initiator is provided, which is adapted to support on-demand communications in a multi-signal initiator environment.

摘要: Disclosed is a method (200) for charging energy storage devices. The method (200) can include a battery charging method in a power supply client connected by a data bus to a power supply host. The method (200) includes the steps of: detecting (210) a state of the power supply host; determining (220) a limit of current from the host to the client; allocating (230) a portion of the limit to a battery charging current; and charging (240) a battery of the client at the battery charging current such that the current from the host is greater than a recommended limit and less than or equal to the determined amount. Thus a client device can confidently charge at a rate which causes the port current to exceed a recommended limit, such as a USB port limit of 500 mA, when allowed by conditions of the host device. Advantageously, the method can help to expedite the charging time of a client battery, notwithstanding the number of other clients connected to the same host device for charging, thus minimizing the wait time of a user.

摘要: A communication system and method are disclosed for transmitting packets of information in at least one first format over a communications link that utilizes packets of information in a second format. In certain embodiments, the packets of information in a first format are converted to packets of information in the second format prior to transmission via the communications link by packing and fragmenting the information in the first format in a coordinated manner. Embodiments may also utilize packing subheaders and fragmentation control bits in the packing and fragmentation processes.

摘要: Lightweight gypsum wallboard produced by continuously combining a small amount of surface active agent with a liquid stream, which stream is made up of substantially all of the water to be used in the manufacture of a continuous web of gypsum wallboard, passing this mixture through a long cylindrical static mixing tube filled with one inch ceramic saddles, while adding a controlled quantity of air thereto, then passing the mixture through a shorter cylindrical static mixing tube of equal diameter filled with 3/8 inch ceramic Raschig rings, forming a uniformly dispersed foam of very small bubbles from the liquid by completely generating all of the surface active agent therein to form this foam, and mixing this foamed liquid with finely ground dry calcined gypsum in a suitable mixing device to form a foamed settable gypsum slurry, disposing the slurry between paper cover sheets, and forming a continuous web of gypsum wallboard.

摘要: A litter material, and the method of manufacture thereof, for deodorizing and absorbing the excreta from animals, and particularly, pet animals. The litter contains a mixture of dried citrus pulp bits and fines of specified sizes which coat the animal feces and absorb urine, respectively. The residual acids and sugars left in the dried pulp serve to neutralize the odor of the excreta.
