    摘要: A cement mold for use in forming a temporary orthopedic implant used in an orthopedic surgical procedure. The cement mold includes a first mold to define a first portion of the temporary implant and a second mold to define a second portion of the temporary implant. A coupling mechanism joins the first mold to the second mold such that the cement mold is substantially sealed to define the temporary implant. The cement mold further defines an input port which is operable to receive a delivery nozzle to supply antibiotic loaded bone cement within an inner sidewall of the cement mold. At least one ventilation port is defined by the cement mold which is operable to vent trapped air upon filling the cement mold with the antibiotic loaded bone cement through the input port. The cement mold further includes a removal mechanism which is operable to assist in tearing and separating the cement mold from the temporary implant.

    摘要: A fastener assembly for repairing fractured bone material includes a wire having a wire leading end for forming a bore through the bone material and a wire trailing end for extending beyond a near-side cortex of the bone material. The fastener includes a head portion having spaced-apart grooves defining cutting edges, a lower portion having threads, and an axial aperture therethrough for receiving the wire. The fastener is adapted to slide axially over the wire trailing end and be driven toward the wire leading end to countersink in the bone material. A driver including a driver body having an axially disposed aperture therethrough for accommodating said guide wire, and a driver head having fingers adapted to engage the spaced-apart grooves of the fastener head portion, is adapted to drive the fastener in the bone material. A measuring sleeve including a tubular body adapted to be positioned generally coaxially relative the wire trailing end and abutting the bone material includes a graduated scale thereon for comparison to the wire trailing end, whereby the depth of the bore can be determined.

    摘要: A set of instruments configured to deliver a therapy to a bone can include a cannulated syringe. The cannulated syringe can extend along a longitudinal axis between a proximal and a distal end. The cannulated syringe can have an inner tube and an outer tube that are interconnected at the distal end as a single fixed unit. A first cannulation can be formed along the longitudinal axis of the cannulated syringe within the inner tube and a second cannulation can be formed within an annular space between the inner and outer tubes. The outer tube can define an opening through a sidewall thereof. The cannulated syringe can be closed from fluid communication between the inner and outer tubes.
