    摘要: This invention relates to a method for forming hollow silica-based particles suitable for containing one or more active ingredients or for containing other smaller particles which may include one or more active ingredients. The method comprises preparing an emulsion including a continuous phase that is polar or non-polar and a dispersed phase comprising droplets including (i) a polar active ingredient when the continuous phase is non-polar or (ii) a non-polar active ingredient when the continuous phase is polar; and adding a silica precursor to the emulsion such that the silica precursor can be emulsion templated on the droplets to form hollow silica-based particles. The silica precursor has the general formula (I): R1x—Si—(OR2)y, wherein R1 is selected from substituted and unsubstituted alkyl, substituted and unsubstituted aryl, alcohols, amines, amides, aldehydes, acids, esters, and functional groups having an unsaturated carbon-carbon bond, R2 is an alkyl group, x+y=4, and y=1, 2 or 3. The —OR2 group is a hydrolyzable organic group that exhibits an ability to form a silicon-oxygen bond chain as a result of hydrolysis and condensation.

    摘要: A soap bar has a solid or semi-solid matrix comprising a cleaning composition; and one or more articles positioned in the matrix. The articles include an electrical source, a light source or a sound emitting device, and a pair of electrodes in spaced apart relationship. The pair of electrodes are in electrical communication with the electrical source and the light source or sound emitting device. The light source emits light when a conductive material creates a current path between the pair of electrodes. The sound emitting device emits sound when a conductive material creates a current path between the pair of electrodes. A section of the matrix covers the pair of electrodes and prevents the conductive material from creating the current path until the section of the matrix is removed thereby uncovering the pair of electrodes. Also disclosed is a melt and pour soap bar formulation including a cleaning composition; and a plurality of dispersed articles comprising a light source or a sound emitting device. The formulation is solid below 120° F., and the formulation can be remelted and remolded.

    摘要: A soap bar has a solid or semi-solid matrix comprising a cleaning composition; and one or more articles positioned in the matrix. The articles include an electrical power source, an output device, a switching device, a controller and a pair of electrodes in spaced apart relationship. The pair of electrodes are in electrical communication with the electrical power source and the output device. The output device produces an output when a conductive material creates a current path between the pair of electrodes. A section of the matrix covers the pair of electrodes and prevents the conductive material from creating the current path until the section of the matrix is removed thereby uncovering the pair of electrodes. A sensor device may also be included to create the current path between the pair of electrodes.
