摘要: An apparatus which provides the ability to charge or power multiple devices from multiple different power sources, and to communicate electronic data to and from one of the devices. The apparatus utilizes simple construction, requiring no active electronics, thereby reducing the cost of production and the reliability of the device. The apparatus employs a single USB connection cable with connectors on both ends and a second power-only cable and connector which is connected to the power wires of the USB cable and thereby is able to power a second portable device from a single USB port. USB master provide sufficient power for two average portable devices without additional circuitry. Moreover, restricting the data path to only one device also eliminates the need for USB hub circuitry. Finally, greater end user flexibility is provided by using a USB male connector as the source of the data and power connection, a USB female connector for the output of the data and power connection, and a standard barrel-type power connector for the power-only output connection. Having two different output connectors ensures that the user will not confuse the two connectors.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention include structures and methods for enhancing illumination uniformity from solar concentrators. Certain embodiments may use features on a reflective layer to globally correct for deviation in reflective behavior from a desired shape. Local features such as facets on a reflective layer are formed such that the resulting illumination profile represents a superposition of multiple facets. Features may be formed on a back film to correct the reflectance of the back film. In some embodiments, features may be formed on a front film to correct a profile from refraction. In some embodiments the corrections are for line concentrators. Global and local correction techniques may be used together, and may be used on front film or reflective film(s) together or separately. Global and/or local correction may also be used in combination with other approaches, such as secondary optic receiver compensation.

摘要: A watercraft stabilizer assembly includes a frame comprising a plurality of frame members connected together and a plurality of floats received on the frame. At least one clamp secures the frame to a watercraft. The clamp comprises clamp members that are securable together such that the frame and a portion of the watercraft are held together between the clamp members.

摘要: A pretensioned spring track tensioning system provides a two stage loading of a tension roller on the interior of a vehicle drive track. The two stage loading first loads the track under a lower tension load for normal operation, but when the track is highly loaded, such as when digging, or when debris is forced between the track member and its drive sprocket or guide rollers, the compression of the lighter spring will be stopped mechanically and a second heavier compression spring will provide the tension loading. The additional spring tension under unusual conditions prevents detracking of the track and buckling of the track. A lighter tension load during normal operations reduces the loads on bearings, particularly in relation to a drive motor. The tensioning system has particular adaptability to “high” drive type tracks which have a drive sprocket elevated above the tension roller.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention may utilize one or more techniques, alone or in combination, to maximize a surface area of a receiver that is configured to convert light into another form of energy. One technique enhances collection efficiency by controlling a size, shape, and/or position of a cell relative to an expected illumination profile under various conditions. Another technique positions non-active elements (such as electrical contacts and/or interconnects) on surfaces likely to be shaded from incident light by other elements of the receiver. Another technique utilizes embodiments of interconnect structures occupying a small footprint. According to certain embodiments, the receiver may be cooled by exposure to a fluid such as water or air.

摘要: A guitar strap securing member has a head and a shaft extending from the head. The shaft is dimensioned to pass though a through-hole of a strap. The head is substantially larger than the through-hole. The strap securing member shaft secures the guitar strap to a receptacle on and supported by a guitar body by inserting the shaft of the guitar strap securing member through the through through-hole of the strap and into the receptacle. The head of the inserted guitar strap securing member, larger than the through-hole, and the shaft in the channel, secures the guitar strap.
