摘要: A method of preserving foodstuffs in a heat-sealable plastic bag wherein three of the bag's four peripheral edges are permanently sealed together and the fourth of the edges comprises a temporary interlocking linear seal. After foodstuffs are placed into the interior of the bag, the linear seal is interlocked to form an inner chamber and to isolate those foodstuffs therein from the outside environment. The bag is then pierced to provide an opening through which the inner chamber of the bag is evacuated. Then, while the inner chamber is evacuated, heat is applied to seal around the opening or between the opening and the portion of the inner chamber containing the foodstuffs to isolate the foodstuffs within said evacuated inner chamber from the outer environment. The foodstuffs may be removed from the bag by opening the interlocking seal and the bags may be reused numerous times by re-interlocking the seal and repeating the evacuating and sealing process.

摘要: A movable platform for supporting a load alongside a structure has an attached catch. The movable structure includes a base having an inboard side and an opposite outboard side, an inboard support extending away from the inboard side of the base, an outboard support extending away from the outboard side of the base, and a catch connected to both the inboard support and the outboard support and passing beneath the base, so that an object dropped over an inboard or outboard edge of the base will be caught by the catch. The inboard support is attached to the base so that a distal end of the inboard support is movable with respect to the base. The distal end is maintained to be in contact with the building exterior. Also described is an accessory for a preexisting movable platform that allows the arms and catch to be attached.

摘要: A heater operates at a first power to heat a space and a second power to maintain the temperature. The heater uses a first heating element and a second heating element, which are configured to automatically supply the first power during an initial heating period, then step down to the second power for continuous operation. The heater may use a phase chopper circuit and heating element; switched diode and heating element; positive temperature coefficient thermostat, isolated heater, and heating element; latching mechanical timer switch and heating element; and/or a positive temperature coefficient heating element and multi-speed fan to provide dual power levels. The heater may include a first heating element energized during a portion of a heating cycle and a second heating element continuously energized during the heating cycle. The heating cycle is repeated for a period after which both elements are de-energized.

摘要: The present invention provides a lid for a beverage cup. The lid has a generally annular side wall, a rib depending from the side wall, and a top wall extending radially inward from the side wall. The lid further includes a central region positioned radially inward of the top wall. The central region has a well with a notched portion. The lid also includes a projection extending from a portion of the side wall. A living hinge formed by a line of weakness at the base of the projection permits the projection to pivot between an open position and a closed position. The central region has a shoulder portion that engages the tip of the projection to secure the projection in the open position.

摘要: A balcony blockout insert is sized to engage a preformed blockout hole and includes a plurality of contact foot members that are in connection with respective pivot arms and structured to extend outwardly against the inner surfaces of the blockout hole by rotating a tensioning bolt in a clockwise direction using a tensioning wrench. Each contact foot member includes one or more resilient pads for engaging the unique contour of the sidewalls (e.g. circular, square, etc.) of the blockout hole to form an anchor point for a temporary railing post. The blockout insert includes a receiver boot for engaged receipt of a temporary post. The blockout insert is removed by turning the tensioning bolt in the counter-clockwise direction using the tensioning wrench, which causes the contact foot members to retract inwards and away from the sidewalls of the blockout hole.

摘要: A mounting assembly structured to secure a safety net to a single one of a plurality of floors of a multi-floor building being constructed, to prevent objects from falling from the building. A stanchion is movably connected to a corresponding support arm selectively disposable into and out of an operative position, wherein adjacent support arms associated with adjacent stanchions are structured to support the safety net there between in an outwardly spaced cantilevered orientation relative to the single floor, when in the operative position. An attachment assembly includes at least two gripping structures, connected to the stanchion and relatively positionable to define a variably dimensioned, floor receiving space there between which facilitates securement of the attachment assembly to a single one of any of the plurality of floors, regardless of the transverse dimension thereof.
