    摘要: A spine fixation assembly connecting a first vertebra to a second vertebra includes first and second mounting assemblies and a first spinal stabilization component. The first mounting assembly is configured to be attached to a first location of the first vertebra and includes a first bone anchor housing and first and second spinal stabilization component housings extending from the first bone anchor housing. The second mounting assembly is configured to be attached to a first location of the second vertebra and includes a second bone anchor housing and third and fourth spinal stabilization component housings extending from the second housing. The first spinal stabilization component includes an elongated body having a first end and a second end and is configured to connect the first mounting assembly to the second mounting assembly. The first spinal stabilization component housing is adapted to receive and connect to the first end of the spinal stabilization component and the third spinal stabilization component housing is adapted to receive and connect to the second end of the spinal stabilization component.

    摘要: This document relates to video transport systems and in particular, though not exclusively, where several compressed or encoded video services are multiplexed into a fixed bit rate transmission stream. There is provided a method of allocating bit-rates for video services in a transport channel. The method comprises receiving user defined weighting parameters for a number of video services (410); then determining an available bit-rate for a transport channel for the video services (420). The method then automatically allocates a proportion of the available bit-rate to each video service according to their respective weighting parameters (430); and multiplexes the video services into the transport channel according to the allocated proportions of the available bit-rate (440).

    摘要: A posterior spinal fusion system may include a plurality of cannulas that mate with cages polyaxially coupled to pedicle screws. The cannulas maintain access to the pedicle screws to facilitate percutaneous insertion of a fusion rod into engagement with the cages. Each cannula has a pair of blades that may be held together by an abutment member that at least partially encircles the blades. Each abutment member abuts the skin to define a variable subcutaneous length of the corresponding cannula. Each abutment members is also lockably removable from the corresponding blades to enable the blades to pivot with respect to the connecting element to a position in which they can be withdrawn from the connecting element. The blades of each cannula are spaced apart to provide first and second slots of each cannula, through which the fusion rod can be percutaneously inserted.

    摘要: A system and a method for providing minimally invasive access to the spine of a patient and implanting spinal stabilization devices. The system utilizes one or more post-type access devices. The post-type access device includes a cage with an aperture and two or more posts extending from the cage and being removably attached to the cage. The posts are supported at the top of the access device by a support ring structure. A pedicle screw is inserted into the access device and through the cage aperture and the screw-access device assembly is inserted into an opening of the patient's body. The base aperture is dimensioned to securely support the head of the screw. Side openings between the posts allow the insertion and placement of stabilization devices, such as rods, wires, or plates from almost any direction.

The system includes a first mechanism for intercepting data bound for the memory device or originating from the memory device. A second mechanism compares a data level associated with the first mechanism to one or more thresholds and provides a signal in response thereto. A third mechanism selectively releases data from the first mechanism or from the memory device in response to the signal. In the specific embodiment, the first mechanism includes one or more First-In-First-Out (FIFO) memory buffers having level indicators that provide data level information. The third mechanism includes a memory manager that provides the signal to the one or more FIFO buffers or to the memory device based on the data level information, thereby causing the one or more FIFO buffers to release the data or accept data from the memory device.

    摘要: A spine fixation assembly connecting a first and second vertebra includes first and second elongated plates that form an X-shaped structure. The first elongated plate has a first and a second end that are attached to a first location of the first vertebra and to a second location of the second vertebra, respectively. The second elongated plate has a first and a second end that are attached to a second location of said first vertebra and to a first location of the second vertebra, respectively. The ends of the plates are attached to the various locations of the vertebra via screws or hooks. The elongated plates may have adjustable length, may be rotated around a central axis passing through the center of-the X-shaped structure and may be cross-coupled to each other via a screw. A third and fourth elongated plated may be attached horizontally across the top and bottom of the X-shaped structure, respectively.
