摘要: An antenna element (100) for an array antenna. The antenna element having a layered configuration comprising a first ground plane (151), a first dielectric layer (140) facing the first ground plane (151), a first planar radiation element (131) facing the first dielectric layer (140), and a feeding via hole (132) arranged electrically connected to the first planar radiation element (131) and arranged extending through the first dielectric layer (140) and through the first ground plane (151) without electrical contact. The antenna element further comprises at least one complementary set comprising a complementary dielectric layer (120) and a complementary planar radiation element (111) facing the complementary dielectric layer. The set is arranged stackable facing the first planar radiation element (131) such that a complementary dielectric layer is arranged between two radiation elements (111, 131) in the layered configuration. The first planar radiation element (131) constitutes a first continuous part of a spiral antenna and the at least one complementary planar radiation element (111) constitutes a continuation of the spiral antenna, thereby the first and the at least one complementary planar radiation elements (111, 131) constitute an effective spiral antenna.

摘要: Disclosed are examples of systems, apparatus, methods and computer program products for locating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). A region of airspace may be scanned with two scanning apparatuses. Each scanning apparatus may include one or more directional Radio Frequency (RF) antennae. The two scanning apparatuses may have different locations. Radio frequency signals emitted by a UAV can be received at each of the two scanning apparatuses. The received radio frequency signals can be processed to determine a first location of the UAV.

摘要: Antenna system includes first and second quadrifilar radiating elements. A first one of the quadrifilar radiating elements (QRE) is comprised of a plurality of first bifilar helical loops (BHLs). The BHLs are oriented in a mutual orthogonal relationship on a common axis. A second QRE shares a common feed structure with the first QRE. The second QRE comprises a plurality of second BHLs oriented in a mutual orthogonal relationship on the common axis. The first QRE is tuned for operation in a first frequency band, the second QRE is tuned for operation in a second frequency band different from the first frequency band.

摘要: A multi-mode, multi-band antenna system for a handheld wireless device includes a Quadrafilar Helix Antenna (QHA) that radiates circularly polarized waves is fed by a co-axial cable. The co-axial cable is also used in combination with the QHA as a monopole antenna. Because of the distinct electromagnetic field patterns of the QHA versus the combination of the QHA and the co-axial cable operating as a monopole antenna, the cross coupling between the two modes is low. In certain embodiments the co-axial cable can itself be formed into a helix in order to reduce the physical length of the antenna system while maintaining an electrical length desired to supported certain frequency bands in the monopole mode. According to certain embodiments a post which also serves to increase the effective electric length of the co-axial cable and thereby support a lower frequency band is provided along the centerline of the QHA.

摘要: A quadrifilar helix antenna includes a cylindrical support extending along an antenna axis; a plurality of spiral conductors wrapped helically on the cylindrical support and along the antenna axis from a feed end to a remote end; a circular ground plane perpendicular to the antenna axis; and each of the spiral conductors including a plurality of gaps, with the gaps having capacitors between conducting portions of the spiral conductors. The capacitors are positioned higher than 60 mm above the ground plane, and capacitance value varies inversely with height. The antenna exhibits a DU(10°)=−20 dB or better at an operating frequency f0=1575 MHz. The diameter of the cylindrical support is 30+/−5 mm. A total height of the cylindrical support is 300+/−50 mm. A winding angle of the helix is variable.

摘要: The invention discloses an antenna arrangement and a method of designing the same, the antenna arrangement being tuned to radiate in a plurality of bands. The antenna arrangement comprises a first conductive element which has a compact linear 2D or 3D form factor. It also comprises leaves attached to the first conductive element, the position, dimension, form factor and orientation of which are defined based on their impact on frequency shifts of the fundamental and harmonic modes, so that the antenna arrangement radiates at a plurality of predefined frequencies. The design method uses maps of hot areas where the sensitivity to the parameters defined for the leaves is maximal. Advantageously, the design method is performed in a manner which uses an orthogonality of the impacts of the parameters of the leaves vis-à-vis the different radiating modes. The antenna arrangement is compact and well adapted to applications to the IoT and consumer communication devices.
