Abstract:
A keyboard has a middle region that has upward longitudinal slopes rising to upper planes on both sides of the middle region. An alphanumeric section disposed in the keyboard housing generally in the middle region. The keyboard includes a first wing section and the second wing section in which each can be disposed at height of the keyboard housing at the upper plane. In one aspect, the alphanumeric section may be disposed below the height of the first and second wing section, and the alphanumeric section is laterally disposed between the first medial section and the second media section.
Abstract:
An improved electrophotographic printer is provided for generating a security stamp in firmware, and printing that security stamp to create documents that have a visible and tactile logo that is automatically printed on each page of a print job. The firmware will automatically create the proper bitmap of the security logo for a page's print resolution and bit depth. Using a color laser printer, the security stamp can be printed using all of the process colors, such as CMYK, which would be rendered and printed at 400% toner coverage. This gives the security stamp a very dark visible appearance and a thick tactile texture. The security stamp can include an area for printing a serial number of the printer, and for printing a time and date stamp.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns constructs based on sequences derived from the partitioning system of plasmid and chromosomal DNA of bacteria, such as eukaryotic expression vectors, fusion proteins and polynucleotides encoding the same and also eukaryotic cells transformed with or expressing such constructs. The present invention also concerns the use thereof in the regulation of gene expression and/or in the detection and control of the dynamics, localization or metabolism of genomic DNA loci of interest in eukaryotic cells.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for sharpening objects formed by an image forming unit. Page objects in print requests may be identified as being one of several different types. Boundaries of the page objects may be eroded according to the type of the page objects, thus defining an eroded boundary. Rectangular objects may be identified by height and width, the boundary eroded by reducing the height and/or width. Character objects may be identified and eroded by performing an AND operation between the original character and a shifted character. Irregular objects may be identified from one or more edge lists and boundaries may be eroded by increasing or decreasing the edge list values. Different halftone screen frequencies may be applied when rendering areas divided by the eroded boundaries. The edges of the objects may be rendered using a higher screen frequency.
Abstract:
A plurality of embodiments of ergonomic apparatus for keyboards are provided for interfacing with a user's arms, wrists, hands and fingers in a more natural way, i.e., in ways that are optimally suited to human typing. The ergonomic apparatus for a keyboard includes structures that reduce extension of human hands while typing on the keyboard. An attachable frame component may be provided which, when attached to a keyboard near its front (the front being closest to the user), the frame component elevates the front of the keyboard thereby achieving a reverse slope of an upper surface of the keyboard.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compounds capable of binding to the oncogene protein MDM2, processes for the preparation of such compounds, pharmaceutical preparations comprising such compounds, and uses of said compounds, e.g. in the therapeutic (including prophylactic) treatment of an animal or especially of the human body. The present further relates to methods of and compounds for inhibiting the growth of tumor cells which comprise the wild type p53 suppressor by interfering with the interaction between human p53 and human MDM2.
Abstract:
Preloaded electrical connector comprises a housing having a terminal therein which is partially inserted into a terminal-receiving cavity. The terminal has a wire contacting lancet thereon and the housing cavity has camming wall portions which are effective, during movement of the terminal to its fully inserted position, to move the contacting lancet into engagement with a wire. Installation is carried out by inserting a wire into the partially inserted terminal and then moving the terminal from its partially inserted position to its fully inserted position. No specialized tooling is required for the installation process.
Abstract:
An electrical connector is disclosed which is for use with a patch cable on a data distribution panel. Connectors are placed at each end of the cable and can be latchably interconnected to the panel to interconnect shielded subassemblies together. A data distribution panel includes a conductive panel having openings for the receipt of shielded electrical data connectors from the rear thereof and are electrically commoned to the panel. The electrical connectors are in the form of shielded subassemblies which, when interconnected to the panel, are commoned by a finger which extends from the panel thereby contacting the subassemblies.
Abstract:
A bond shield terminal formed of two hermaphroditic elements of substantially identical shape, each element being lockable in the other and providing a force on a shield of a pair of wires positioned therebetween. Each of the hermaphroditic elements includes a base and a pair of latching arms depending from one adjacent pair of corners of the base, each of the latching arms having a pair of spaced apertures therein and a pair of legs depending from the other two corners of the base, each of the legs having a latching finger formed therein for locking into the apertures of the mating element. A pair of spring arms is formed in the base and depends therefrom in the same direction as the arms and legs, each of the spring arms having extensions for applying a force to wires between a pair of elements to provide a compressive force against the wires and maintain the metal shields thereof in compression against each other to provide good electrical contact.
