摘要： The invention relates to a hand held power tool, such as a router, for use with an operative element to treat a work piece over a treatment depth from a face of the work piece. The power tool includes a base positionable in use adjacent the work piece and a fastening assembly for holding the operative element, the fastening assembly being rotatable about an operative axis and being movable relative to the base in the direction of the operative axis. The power tool also includes primary power drive means including a motor being operable to rotate the fastening assembly about the operative axis and secondary power drive means including a motor being operable to move the fastening assembly relative to the base in the direction of the operative axis.; Further included in the power tool is an electronic control means for controlling at least the operation of the secondary power drive means, the electronic control means having associated user controls, and at least one handle which is held by the user while operating the power tool. The user controls are located on the at least one handle to enable user operation of the secondary power drive means while holding the at least one handle.

摘要： A capacitor-based (supercapacitor, ultracapictor or psudeocapcitor) electrical charger, rechargeable device and energy storage pack for use with a rechargeable power tool. The rechargeable device includes a storage capacitor. The electrical charger includes a supply capacitor electrically connected to an electrical contact, the supply capacitor being charged when the electrical charger is connected to a power source. While in use, any charge in the supply capacitor is rapidly distributed between the supply capacitor and the storage capacitor when the rechargeable device is mounted in the receiver of the electrical charger. The electrical charger includes a safety interlock switch which only supplies power to the electrical contact of the charger after electrical terminal of the rechargeable device have engaged the electrical contact.

摘要： The invention relates to a mechanical assembly for a power tool, and a power tool incorporating the mechanical assembly. The mechanical assembly includes a first member having a first axis and a first engagement portion inclined relative to the first axis and a second member having a second axis and a second engagement portion inclined relative to the second axis. The first and second engagement portions engage each other by movement of the first and second members relative to each other in the direction of at least one of the axes. The power tool includes a power tool body and a rotatable driven member being operable for releasably gripping a working element, the driven member having a drive mode in which rotation of the driven member drives the working element relative to the power tool body and an adjustment mode in which rotation of the driven member causes the driven member to either grip the working element or release the working element or both. The power tool also includes means for adjusting the driven member between the modes which includes the mechanical assembly wherein the first and second engagement portions engage each other by movement of the first and second members relative to each other in the direction of at least one of the axes and wherein engagement between the first and second engagement portions adjusts the driven member to the adjustment mode and disengagement between the first and second engagement portions adjusts the driven member to the drive mode. The power tool may also include a first torque control means that is operable for controlling the amount of torque applied to the driven member by the power drive when in the drive mode and a second torque control means that is operable for controlling the amount of torque applied to the driven member by the power drive when in the adjustment mode. The power tool may further include a gearbox with one or more speeds and a switch with two or more positions that is operable for selecting the modes, the gear speeds and the first and second torque control means.

摘要： The present invention relates to rechargeable hand-held electrical devices, chargers and accessories for use therewith. The present invention provides an accessory and charging system for a rechargeable hand-held electrical device. The system includes an electrical device, an accessory and a charger. The electrical device includes a first connecting portion, the charger includes a second connecting portion and the accessory includes a third connecting portion. The first connecting portion of the electrical device is configured to mate with the second connecting portion for enabling the charger to recharge the electrical device. The first connecting portion of the electrical device is also configured to mate with the third connecting portion for enabling the electrical device to supply power to the accessory. Accordingly, the system provides a hand-held electrical device which can serve at least one primary function as well as an accessory which, when attached to the device, can serve at least one secondary function whilst requiring only a single power storage means associated with the device and a single charger to charge the device. In one form, the electrical device is an electrical appliance, such as a hand held power tool, and in another form the accessory includes an electric light.
