摘要： A lamp assembly for use with a vehicle's electrical system, the electrical system including a plurality of terminals each having a wire insulating portion and an end connector portion. A main elastomeric housing includes a socket for receiving a bulb. A front seal encircles an exterior surface of the socket and seals around a periphery of the socket. A first plurality of sealing ridges extend along an open facing side of the main housing, opposite the bulb socket, and within which are received the wire insulating portions of the terminals and the end connector portions of each terminal conmmunicating with the bulb socket upon the terminals being located within the main housing. A back cap matingly aligns over an open facing side of the main housing and includes an opposingly facing side with a second plurality of sealing ridges which align with the first plurality of sealing ridges and to sandwich therebetween the wire insulating portions of the terminals. An inlet seal is seatingly received between aligning recesses defined between the opposingly facing sides of the main housing and the back cap and is located proximate the first and second pluralities of sealing ridges. Wire receiving apertures extend through the seal and into which are inserted the wire insulating portions of the terminals. An ultrasonic welding operation secures the back cap to the main elastomeric housing in a seal-tight manner.

摘要： An apparatus and method for securing fiber optic cable to a connector, comprising providing a cable, said cable having an outer surface, an end section, a cable jacket, and a strengthening material; positioning a strain relief boot on said outer surface of said cable, said strain relief boot having an inner surface, wherein said inner surface has a first geometric pattern; providing a connector assembly, said connector assembly having a connector assembly part, a plug end, a cable end, and an exterior surface, wherein said exterior surface has a second geometric pattern which cooperates with said first geometric pattern on said inner surface of said strain relief boot, said connector part being located on said cable end; positioning said end section of said cable in a manner such that said cable jacket and said strengthening material touch, and cover said outer surface of said connector part; and using a simple tool to slide said strain relief boot toward said connector, and over said connector part, thereby exerting pressure and causing said cable jacket and said strengthening material to be captured in a hazardous path between said first geometric pattern on inner surface of said strain relief boot, and said second geometric pattern on said exterior surface of said connector assembly part.

The housing further includes contact receiving apertures extending between the cavity wall and the rear wall. An insert is locked in place in the forward cavity, the adjacent wall of the insert having standoff feet to define a gap between the cavity wall and insert wall. The insert has apertures in alignment with the apertures in the housing. The apertures within the insert include a shoulder facing the rear wall of the insert. A contact insertable into the apertures in the housing and insert has a lance which is locatable in the gap between the cavity wall and insert wall to lock the contact in place.

摘要： Electrical connector assembly comprises a plug and a receptacle which has a plug receiving opening extending into its mating face. The plug has latch arms extending from its endwalls adjacent to the leading end of the plug. The latch arms extend divergently and have rearwardly facing shoulders intermediate the ends and handle portions extending from the shoulders to the free ends. Ears extend from the free ends towards the endwalls and are offset from the adjacent plug sidewall so that the latch arms can be flexed towards the plug endwalls for unlatching. The receptacle opening has shoulders therein for engagement with the plug shoulders.

摘要： Disclosed is a ring terminal connector which includes a pair of like circular, substantially flat apertured terminals. Each terminal has a raised bump or nib on its upper surface and a nib opening on its upper surface such that the pair of terminals may be interlocked by fixing the raised nib of each terminal in the nib opening of the other terminal. The terminals also each have a pair of inwardly directed slotted flanges and an elongated opening or groove to properly orient one terminal with respect to the other. One of the terminals may be turned over and engaged with the other terminal such that by rotating one relative to the other, the terminals may be interlocked. Further, the terminals each have an integral outwardly directed crimping arm to receive wires and maintain a positive connection between the connector and the wires and/or the bolt to which the connector is attached. The nib, elongated opening, nib opening and slotted flanges are circumferentially located such that the crimping arms do not interfere with each other when the terminals are interlocked.

摘要： An electrical connector includes an insulative housing having a front mating face and a rear sealed face. The connector housing further includes a plurality of terminals disposed in apertures which extend between the front face and the rear sealing face of the housing. The terminals include front contacting portions adjacent to the front face and wire connecting portions adjacent to the rear face. The terminal also includes an integral portion which extends beyond the rear sealing face. A seal is provided at the rear sealing face which is retractable therefrom to expose the extending terminal portions for probing. The seal is retractable from the rear sealing face while the electrical connector is connected to a matable receptacle, and while the system, to which the electrical connector and receptacle are connected, is operating.
