A pulse detonation cleaner system is described. The cleaner includes an elongated combustion chamber configured with at least one fuel injection inlet and one air inlet to provide fuel to the combustion chamber. The fuel and air are mixed and ignited to produce a flame. The flame is accelerated into a detonation as it propagates downstream through the combustion chamber. The detonation and its products are vented from the combustion chamber into a vessel to be cleaned. The shock and high-pressure products of the detonation are used to release debris from the walls of the vessel and blow them away.

A method and system for a tone generator assembly are provided. The tone generator assembly includes a resonance chamber that includes a first end and a second end and a body extending therebetween. The body surrounds a cavity therein, wherein the first end includes a resonance chamber opening in flow communication with the cavity. The tone generator assembly also includes a nozzle having a bore therethrough. The bore includes an inlet opening configured to receive a flow of relatively high pressure fluid and an outlet opening coupled in flow communication with the inlet opening and configured to discharge an underexpanded jet of fluid when the flow of relatively high pressure fluid is received at the inlet opening. The resonance chamber and the nozzle are positioned relatively and sized to facilitate emitting a tone from the tone generator assembly having a frequency less than two kilohertz.

A method for dynamically determining a remaining actual operational period for a filter in a filtration device including: determining an initial remaining operational period based on an installation date of the filter and an initial expected operational period; periodically determining a remaining actual operational period of the filter based on the initial remaining operational period based and an elapsed operational period from the installation date; monitoring at least one operating parameter in the filtration device; adjusting the remaining actual operational period based on the monitored operating parameter, and continuing to periodically determine the remaining actual operational period based on the adjusted remaining actual operational period and the elapsed operational period.

A unitary-enclosure housing apparatus and arrangement for protecting and cooling the high voltage electronic conditioning and filtering circuitry components used for providing a high-voltage waveform to an electrostatic precipitator device includes a hermetically sealed dielectric liquid coolant filled tank/housing having one or more side-mounted hollow-panel type radiator structures for dissipating heat from the coolant. The disclosed unitary-enclosure housing apparatus and the particular arrangement of the internal electronic components results in a relatively external small footprint while containing both the transformer-rectifier (TR) set and high-voltage resistor-capacitor (R-C) filter components associated with a high-voltage electrostatic precipitator device in a single unitary package. The housing apparatus is outfitted with a removable top cover plate and access panel for providing easy access to the TR set and R-C filter components. A coolant drain spigot is also provided on the housing for simplifying the draining and replacement of coolant liquid.

Methods and systems for monitoring particulate in a flow of gases are provided. A particulate monitor system includes an emitter coupled to an exhaust duct and downstream from a turbine engine. The emitter emits light at a predetermined intensity through a flow of gases discharged from the turbine engine into the exhaust duct. A receiver is coupled to the exhaust duct and oriented to receive at least a portion of the light emitted from the emitter. The receiver generates a first signal indicative of an intensity of the emitted light received. A controller is coupled in communication with the receiver. The controller is configured to generate, based on the first signal, an output signal corresponding to a variation in intensity of the portion of the emitted light received. A monitor in communication with the controller receives the output signal from the controller.

Methods and systems for detecting filter rupture are provided. The system includes a light emitter positioned on a first lateral side of a fluid flow and configured to emit light at a predetermined intensity into the fluid flow downstream from a fluid filter, a light receiver positioned on a second lateral side of the fluid flow and configured to receive at least a portion of the emitted light, and a controller configured to receive a signal from said light receiver corresponding to the intensity of the emitted light or the pulsations in the light received, also known as scintillation, said controller configured to generate a corresponding output signal.

A method for monitoring operation of a rapper in an electrostatic precipitator using a rapper control system is described. The method includes determining model electrical characteristics of the rapper. The model electrical characteristics of the rapper correspond to model mechanical operating characteristics of the rapper. The method also includes storing data corresponding to the model electrical characteristics and the model mechanical operating characteristics of the rapper, determining actual electrical characteristics of the rapper, and comparing the actual electrical characteristics of the rapper to the stored model electrical characteristics to determine actual mechanical operating characteristics of the rapper.
