摘要: In some aspects, a computer-implemented method of reducing a rate of fouling in a recovery boiler system is provided. A computing device receives boiler operating information for a period of time. The boiler operating information includes boiler operating parameters and a rate of fouling for the period of time. The boiler operating parameters include one or more boiler input parameters. The computing device performs a regression analysis to determine at least one correlation between the boiler operating parameters and the rate of fouling. The computing device causes at least one boiler input parameter to be adjusted based on the at least one correlation to minimize the rate of fouling. In some aspects, a system configured to perform such a method is provided. In some aspects, a computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that cause a computing device to perform such a method is provided.

摘要: An assembly for cleaning a smelt spout includes a cleaning head, a drive rod connected with the cleaning head, and a pneumatic or other drive connected to selectively extend or retract the drive rod. The drive rod may be connected with the cleaning head by a pivotal connection. The cleaning head may be bifurcated. The cleaning head may include a leading edge configured to engage and clean a spout opening from which smelt from a chemical reduction furnace flows to the spout. The assembly may further include a pivot point and, as the drive selectively extends the drive rod, torque about the pivot point produced by the cleaning head and an extending portion of the drive rod rotates the cleaning head downward to engage a smelt spout.

摘要: Disclosed is a process for cleaning a boiler, wherein, while fumes are emitted in a combustion chamber of the boiler and circulate up to exchangers of the boiler, an aqueous solution of dissolved magnesium chloride and/or sulfate and/or dissolved calcium chloride is injected into the combustion chamber in the form of droplets which, by vaporization of the water of the aqueous solution, then thermal decomposition, are transformed in the combustion chamber into magnesium and/or calcium oxide particles reacting in the combustion chamber by mixing with molten salts and/or molten oxides, present in the fumes, to crystallize these molten salts and/or to vitrify these molten oxides before these molten salts and/or these molten oxides come into contact with the exchangers. Also disclosed is a device for implementing this process and a boiler equipped with this device.

摘要: A flue pipe clearance device is provided. The flue pipe clearance includes a cap portion dimensioned and adapted to operatively associate with an end of an outbound pipe. The flue pipe clearance device includes an inlet that fluidly communicates to the end of the outbound pipe when the cap portion and outbound pipe are operatively associated. Pressurized gas may be selectively applied to the inlet so as to urge the evacuation of debris or fluids in the outbound pipe through an exhaust end of the outbound pipe.

摘要: An arrangement of a thermal device and a surface reflecting and/or scattering electromagnetic radiation in the inner part of the thermal device. A source of electromagnetic radiation is arranged at a first distance (L1) from the surface, and a detector of electromagnetic radiation is arranged at a second distance (L2) from the surface. The source is configured to emit radiation to the surface, which is reflected and/or scattered from the surface as reflected radiation. The detector receives reflected radiation; and the processing unit determines data dependent on the first and/or second distance by the emitted and reflected radiation. A wall of the thermal device has a window or aperture for emitting an optical signal from the light source to the surface. An electromagnetic distance measurement device measures the thickness or the increase in the thickness of a contamination layer from a thermal device.

摘要: Methods and systems for inhibiting buildup of crystalline materials in a flue gas desulfurization (FGD) unit. Crystalline materials can accumulate in FGD units as a byproduct of chemical desulfurization processes and can adversely impact FGD unit function. The systems described in the present application include an FGD unit with one or more selected bacterial strains disposed therein. It is believed that the bacteria may form a biofilm on the surfaces in the FGD and/or form a biosurfactant to inhibit or prevent buildup of crystalline materials in the FGD unit. Methods include inoculating an FGD unit with one or more selected bacteria that inhibit or prevent buildup of crystalline materials in the FGD unit. Methods may include periodic reinoculation of the FGD unit.

摘要: A sootblower having a nozzle that includes one or more deep reaching jets aligned with its respective platen bank to clean slag deposits inset from the leading edge of the platen bank. The nozzle also includes one or more edge cleaning jets substantially angled with respect to the platen bank for cleaning the leading edges of the platen bank. For most applications, the major axis of the sootblower is perpendicular to the major axis of its respective platen bank, resulting in a sootblower with a nozzle having angled and perpendicular jets, referred to as angled-perpendicular nozzles. The jet sizes are selected to balance the opposing components of force perpendicular to the sootblower to avoid the imposition of torque on the lance.
