摘要: An inflatable optical housing is adapted to provide a visual image and be used in connection with a separate computing device. The housing is sized by one or more bladders and at least one associated alignment member. Optical elements of the device provide an image of a display and/or an enhanced magnified image via lensing. The housing preferably is constructed of lightweight materials and is adapted for rapid inflation and deflation through a variety of mechanisms and with a variety of media. Embodiments of the invention are especially advantageous with wearable computing devices and methods.

摘要: A body-wearable interactive device with a retractable earbud and a microphone provides data, audio and voice communication with a wearable personal computing or other remote device. Full voice and display interface with a personal computer can be achieved with the use of a wireless link between the input/output device and computer. The device is adapted for use with a variety of ancillary communications devices to provide flexibility in field and mobile communications scenarios. Corresponding methods are also disclosed by which a wearer can effect communication through and with the interactive device.

摘要: Systems for collecting and storing solar energy including a solar energy capture and store device having a plurality of segments arranged in a contiguous row. Immediately adjacent ones of the segments are interconnected by a hinge such that the plurality of segments are transitionable between a collapsed, folded state and an expanded state. A photovoltaic layer is carried by at least one of the segments, and a power storage layer is carried by at least one of the segments. The power storage layer is electrically connected to at least one of the photovoltaic layers. An electronic connection is established between each immediately adjacent pair of segments. An electrical connections terminus delivers stored energy. A do-it-yourselfer (DIY) individual is afforded the ability to install and operate a solar energy collection device with little or no skills in the arena of power provision.

摘要: A LED-based light bulb or lamp device including a bulb body, an LED assembly, an LED heatsink, and a power conversion heatsink. The LED assembly includes a plurality of LEDs and circuitry. The circuitry includes power converting components adapted to modify applied power for powering the LEDs via conductive wiring. The LED heatsink is mounted to the bulb body in close proximity to at least one of the LEDs. The power conversion heatsink is provided apart from the LED heatsink and is mounted to the bulb body in close proximity to at least one of the power converting components. The LED heatsink dissipates heat from at least some of the light emitting diode lights whereas the separate power conversion heatsink dissipates heat from the power converting circuitry components, thereby separating the heat-generating components and their mounting zones, heat paths and heatsink surface areas.
