    摘要： Bath tubs have been around for many hundreds of years, however the bath tub & shower combination not as long. The bath and shower combination has its conveniences, it gives the user a choice; the choice of just taking a tub bath, a shower or both.However, if the choice entails taking a shower, the results could means water on bathroom floor. Water on the floor presents a safety hazard that the elderly and very young find difficult to negotiate. Therefore there is a need to prevent water from exiting the bath tub and shower enclosure. What is new about this device or this tub & shower modification is its ability to keep bathroom floor dry, during the bathing process. It does this by redirecting the water back into the tub's own drainage system through a combination usage of shower curtains, water shields and a modified drainage system.

    摘要： An optical pulse extender includes a delay loop formed by a plurality of mirrors and a graded reflectivity beamsplitter. The mirrors and the beamsplitter are configured and aligned such that a pulse to be broadened makes a predetermined number of round trips in the delay loop and is incident on a different zone of the beamsplitter after each round trip. The different zones of the beamsplitter have different reflection values and different transmission values. These values are selected such that the pulse extender delivers a plurality of temporally and spatially separated replica pulses each thereof having about the same energy. The delivered replica pulses together provide an extended pulse having a longer duration than the input pulse. The replica pulses may be passed through a beam homogenizer to spatially homogenize the temporal characteristics of the extended pulse.

    摘要： Protection against spoofing is provided in a LAN having at least two service classes, where one service class includes allows access to the LAN, the internet, and the intranet containing the LAN and a more limited service class which allows access to the LAN and the internet but not the intranet databases. A user gains access to the LAN using his or her ID which identifies the user's access level. To prevent limited access users from gaining access to the intranet by changing addresses, the system continuously performs periodic checks for address changes. If there is an address change, the port assigned to, or used by the user, is disabled throwing the user off the LAN prior to his or her obtaining the requested data.
