    Abstract: A thermal management technique reduces heat transferred to a user while maintaining mechanical strength of an outer housing of an information handling system. In at least one embodiment, an information handling system includes an outer housing and a thermal management structure adjacent to an inner lateral surface of the outer housing. The thermal management structure includes a porous layer configured to increase thermal resistance in a first direction orthogonal to the inner lateral surface of the outer housing. The porous layer may include a honeycomb structure formed from a metal or a metal alloy. The porous layer may include a metal foam.

    Abstract: A game controller includes a joystick that accepts end user inputs and has illumination provided at the game controller surface encircling the joystick to provide indications to an end user, such as a locally-determined game controller status or a game application end user energy state. The illumination is provided from light emitting diodes disposed within the game controller interior on a flexible printed circuit board and coupled to a base of an annular light guide by a gasket to direct illumination into the annular light guide. Non-translucent treatment at the light guide on the game controller surface defines a translucent region at which illumination is presented.

The shutter assembly routes power from a circuit board to the visual camera to provide secondary security for the visual camera by powering off the camera when the shutter is unlocked to move, such that manual unlocking of the shutter removes power from the visual camera even when the shutter is open.
