Abstract: A method for inputting a text and a display apparatus using the same are provided, the text input method including: transferring a message for requesting execution of a text input mode to an external device; receiving the text from the external device; and displaying the received text if it is determined that a situation in which a text is to be input occurs. Therefore, if a situation in which a text is to be input occurs, an external device automatically operates in a text input mode, and thus a user more conveniently inputs the text.
