Abstract:
Apparatuses for playing signals received from the internet or other information highway or a stored database on one or more speakers are described. The apparatus has a receiver for receiving information from preselected addresses; a processor for interpreting the signals; and a headset with at least one speaker for playing signals from the internet. There is at least display device in the headset in the form of a holographic projector connected to the receiver for displaying a 3D holographic image received from the internet. The processor selects images that correspond with the signals played by the speaker. The speaker projects the sound so that it appears that the sound is coming from a place other than the actual speaker itself. A holographic projector connected to the processor projects a 3D holographic image onto the place from which the sound appears to originate, rather than on the actual speaker itself.
Abstract:
A composition of furosemide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, or physiologically functional derivative thereof is combined with a steroid, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, or physiologically functional derivative thereof, to provide a topical medication for nasal or pulmonary treatment. The composition can provide, in a single administration or dosing regime, the anti-inflammatory properties of the steroid and the anti-inflammatory properties of furosemide, without any significant interference between the two, or adverse reaction in situ. One of the components is microencapsulated so that the components are released into the patient's bloodstream at different times, even when administered simultaneously.
Abstract:
A portable cushion has a first chamber formed from an upper sheet and a lower sheet sealed to the upper sheet along three edges, and a resealable closure extending between the upper sheet and lower sheet along a fourth edge to create an air-impermeable pocket when the closure is sealed. There is a second chamber formed from an upper sheet and a lower sheet sealed to the upper sheet along three edges, and a resealable closure extending between the upper sheet and lower sheet along a fourth edge to create an air-impermeable pocket when the closure is sealed. The second chamber is connected to one of the three edges of the first chamber along one of the three edges of the second chamber, to form a two-part cushion having a hinge between the two chambers. The cushion can be filled with air by waving each chamber through the air while the respective fourth edge is in an open position, and then sealing the respective closure element when air has entered the chamber.
Abstract:
An apparatus for applying a two-component liquid composition to a surface has a housing having an open end, an inner surface and an outer surface, an applicator retained in the housing and projecting through the open end, two containers removably mounted to the inner surface of the housing, each container having a dispensing nozzle extending through an aperture in the housing and arranged adjacent the applicator. A cover is mounted over the containers. There is a cutting device arranged on the housing adjacent the nozzles, the cutting device having at least one blade, wherein pressing the cutting device causes the blades to pierce the nozzles and allow contents of the containers to exit the containers and flow to the applicator.

Abstract:
A method for creating a specialized medical database uses software installed on a computer having a microprocessor and a database. The software allows a user to input search terms into the computer, whereby the software then searches the internet, including social media sites and chat rooms for posts that include the search terms. The posts are then analyzed by software that can obtain identification of the individuals. The software then contacts each of the individuals to verify the information in the post, to obtain additional information and to obtain contact information regarding each of the individuals' physicians. The software then contacts the physician to verify the information supplied by the individual. All of the information obtained in this process is then placed in a sortable format in the memory of the computer.
Abstract:
A method and system for diagnosing and treating infection or disease, in which an individual takes a photograph of an infected or diseased area of a body using a camera connected to a microprocessor. The photograph is sent to a diagnosing center having a server with a second microprocessor and a database of photographs correlated with different diseases and infections. The second microprocessor scans the image received from the camera and compares it to the photographs in the database. If a match is found, the second microprocessor then notes the disease or bacteria corresponding to the matching photograph. The second microprocessor then searches an additional database correlated to the match, to further refine the diagnosis. The second microprocessor then searches the second database for a treatment corresponding to the identified disease or bacteria. Once a treatment is identified, information regarding this treatment is automatically sent to the individual's microprocessor.
Abstract:
A compressed article of hygiene is formed by a compressed cloth that has been compressed by dehydration or vacuum pressure into a coin shape and that is expandable upon contact with a liquid, and a plurality of microencapsulated beads containing a material. The microencapsulated beads are attached and embedded in the compressed cloth. Upon contact with water, expansion of the compressed cloth is unconstrained, and the compressed cloth when expanded has a shape of a facial mask with openings for eye, nose and mouth. The material is a facial treatment material that hardens upon drying.

Abstract:
A face mask has an ultraviolet (UV) light-emitting diode (LED) mounted in a respiration tube that extends through an outer shell of the mask. A power source is connected to the UV LED. The respiration tube is serpentine in shape so as to maximize the amount time the air is subjected to the UV radiation. The movement of the air as well as additional heat sinks in the tube reduce the amount of heat radiating from the LEDs during use. This arrangement protects the user and others from excessive UV exposure and heat during use.
