    摘要: A gas extraction device for down hole oilfield applications utilizes the flow of the liquid, created by an artificial lift device, to produce conditions by which the gas is drawn into tubing. A venturi creates a low pressure area through a constricted section of the tubing. The pressure within the throat of the venturi drops the pressure in the casing. The device is axially adjusted to allow communication ports to a lower pressure area of the casing annulus. The lower pressure in the venturi draws the gas into the liquid stream and into the production tubing above the device. The gas is then transferred through the well head within the liquid stream.

    摘要: A seafloor pump assembly is installed within a caisson that has an upper end for receiving a flow of fluid containing gas and liquid. The pump assembly is enclosed within a shroud that has an upper end that seals around the pump assembly and a lower end that is below the motor and is open. A separating device is connected to an upper end portion of the discharge pipe within the caisson. The separating device causes separation of gas from the flow containing gas and liquid to be enhanced prior to the flow reaching the operating liquid level in the caisson.

    摘要: An electrical line for a well pump has elastomeric supports clamped to the exterior of electrical cable for supporting the cable within coiled tubing. The cable supports have an elastomeric member that swells when contacted with a hydrocarbon liquid. Each expansion member is clamped to the cable exterior by retainers located at the ends. The expansion members are spaced apart longitudinally along the cable, and then the cable is inserted into the coiled tubing. Hydrocarbon liquid is pumped through the coiled tubing to cause the expansion members to swell into frictional engagement with the coiled tubing. The retainers direct the swelling laterally into tight contact with the coiled tubing.

    摘要: Apparatus for deploying and energizing pumping apparatus including a submergible electric motor comprises a cable socket assembly and a cable connecting-and-sealing chamber assembly. The cable socket assembly has a housing that is connected at a lower end to an upper end of a housing of the cable connecting-and-sealing chamber assembly, the lower end of which is connected to a housing of the motor. The upper end of the housing of the cable socket assembly has an attachment portion provided with a breakaway connection to a weight-bearing cable. An electrical cable extends through the housing of the cable socket assembly to the housing of the cable connecting-and-sealing chamber assembly, which is divided by the body of a penetrator into upper and lower chambers. Sets of conductors in the chambers are connected, respectively, to the electrical cable and to the motor, and are interconnected with each other via feed-through elements (mandrels) associated with the body. The chambers are filled with fluid that excludes well fluid. If the pumping apparatus becomes stuck downhole, the cables may be disconnected from the pumping apparatus and pulled from the well. Then the pumping apparatus may be retrieved without exposing the interior of the motor to well fluid.
