摘要： The present invention relates to a photoelectrographic element having a conductive layer in electrical contact with a acid photogenerating layer which is free of photopolymerizable materials and contains an acid photogenerator, a pigment which absorbs near-infrared radiation, and, preferably, an electrically insulating binder. Contiguous with the acid photogenerating layer is a charge transport layer formed from a polymeric binder and one or more charge transport materials. A process for forming images with this element is also disclosed.

摘要： A xeroprinting master is formed by depositing a corona charge injection modifying material on a master substrate which includes a charge transport layer. The material can block the injection of charge that would otherwise inject into the charge transport layer or it can inject charge that would otherwise remain on the surface of the master. Preferably, the deposit is made by a conventional printer such as an ink jet, impact or thermal printer and the resulting deposit is not fused before use in xeroprinting.

摘要： Xeroprinting masters are formed by first forming a toner mask. The mask is used to expose a xeroprinting master material exhibiting persistent conductivity in response to a given wavelength and intensity of radiation. The toner mask can be formed and transferred to the xeroprinting material without fusing. After exposure the masking toner can be cleaned off providing a planographic master. Multicolor images are formed by forming two or more masking images, and transferring them to two or more master surfaces. After irradiation and cleaning each master surface is used as a xeroprinting master for a particular color in a multicolor duplicating system.

摘要： An electrographic primary imaging member upon which an electrographic image may be written includes a support member; a charge retention layer for the electrographic image; a compliant layer being formed on the support member as an intermediate layer between the charge retention layer and the support member, the compliant layer being formed of a material having a Young's modulus of between about 0.1 MPa and about 100 MPa and a thickness of between at least 1 mm and about 20 mm; and the charge retention layer being a dielectric and being substantially thinner than the compliant layer and being supported on the support member and having a Young's modulus of greater than that of the compliant layer and at least about 80 MPa. The imaging member may form part of an electrographic recording apparatus wherein the electrographic image is developed and transferred to a receiver sheet or transferred to an intermediate transfer member from which it is then transferred to a receiver sheet.

摘要： A weak electrostatic image on an imaging member is amplified by first toning it with a charge injection toner. The imaging member is recharged without fusing the toner image to a charge of the same polarity as the first charge but substantially higher potential. The excess charge over the first charge injects through the toner to create an amplified electrostatic image that can be toned.
