In a process for isomerizing light hydrocarbons with a catalyst system comprising a halogenated alumina or platinum alumina when hydrogen is utilized to sustain the catalyst activity, the ratio of hydrogen to hydrocarbon in the feed is decreased and the temperature increased after a substantial period of operation. This results in an improved conversion and selectivity which allows for increasing the total catalyst life.

Described is a process for the purification of gaseous effluent of industrial processes by providing a gas containing at least a hydrocarbon solvent and/or an oxygenated solvent and passing said gas into a gas absorbing means comprised of a nonreactive liquid solvent for said gas, said liquid solvent being liquid and substantially nonvolatile at ambient temperatures and pressures. Preferably, the liquid absorbing solvent is reclaimed by separating the gaseous effluent therefrom. The gaseous effluent is preferably that resulting from the application of paint.

A method for applying a polyurethane coating onto a substrate by employing a catalyzed coating composition comprising the steps:(1) Providing a coating composition comprised of:(A) a polyol composition comprising (1) a polymerized low molecular weight polyol selected from the group consisting of (a) polycaprolactone; (b) a copolymer of a compound of the formula CH.sub.2 .dbd.C(R)--R.sup.1 and allyl alcohol; and (c) mixtures thereof; (2) a saturated aliphatic polyol from 4 to 12 carbon atoms or a saturated cycloaliphatic polyol of from 5 to 8 carbon atoms per ring; wherein R is methyl, ethyl or hydrogen; R.sup.1 is a group having 6 to 12 carbon atoms containing an aromatic carbocyclic ring;(B) a polyisocyanate; wherein the ratio of NCO/OH of A and B ranges from about 0.9 to 1.2; the coating composition having a range of solids content from about 40 to about 100% by weight; and(C) a compatible polyurethane catalyst;(2) Applying the coating composition to a substrate; and(3) Heating the coated substrate at a temperature-time range of from about 130.degree. F. to about 180.degree. F. for a period of time ranging from about 15 minutes to about 60 minutes to achieve a Tukon hardness of at least 3 within 24 hours.
