    摘要: A process for the isomerization of C.sub.4 and higher molecular weight hydrocarbons, preferably C.sub.4 to C.sub.6 paraffins with high C.sub.6 cyclics content. A C.sub.5 to C.sub.6 hydrocarbon stream is isomerized in a first isomerization reaction zone and a C.sub.4 hydrocarbon stream is isomerized in a second isomerization reaction zone. At least one or both of the effluent streams from the first and second isomerization zones are conveyed to a gas-liquid separator which separates a hydrogen-rich recycle stream. At least a portion of the hydrogen-rich recycle stream is conveyed to the C.sub.5 to C.sub.6 hydrocarbon feed stream and at least a portion of the hydrogen-rich recycle stream is conveyed to the C.sub.4 hydrocarbon feed stream whereby the hydrogen recycle stream is shared during both the C.sub.4 isomerization reaction and the C.sub.5 to C.sub.6 isomerization reaction. The product stream is conveyed to a shared stabilizer which removes the gaseous and volatile components. The product stream can be fractionated to recover the separate C.sub.4 to C.sub.6 isoparaffins and normal paraffins and naphthenic compounds.

    摘要: A solid base with improved properties, such as excellent catalytic performance, is obtainable by reacting alumina with an alkali metal hydroxide in a reaction system at a temperature of 200.degree. to 500.degree. C. to form a reaction product; adding an alkali metal to the reaction system; and reacting the reaction product with the added alkali metal at a temperature of 180.degree. to 350.degree. C., or reacting water-containing alumina with an alkali metal in an amount of 1.01 to 2 times the molar equivalents of water contained in the water-containing alumina wherein a portion of the alkali metal of an amount not more than a molar equivalent of water contained in a reaction system at a temperature in a range between a melting point of the alkali metal and 500.degree. C. to form a reaction product and the reaction product is reacted with the rest of the alkali metal at a temperature of 180.degree. to 350.degree. C.

    摘要: A zeolite related to zeolite L and having a characteristic cylindrical morphology may be prepared from a crystallization gel comprising (in mole ratios of oxides):K.sub.2 O/SiO.sub.2 : 0.22-0.36H.sub.2 O/K.sub.2 O: 25-90SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 : 6-15and preferably with the mole ratio H.sub.2 O/K.sub.2 O+Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 +SiO.sub.2 being at least 8. The cylindrical Zeolite L may be used as a catalyst base in aromatization of acyclic hydrocarbons with high benzene yields being sustained over commercially feasible periods.
