    Abstract: Laminate film structures including an adhesive layer having gas and moisture barrier properties are disclosed. The disclosed laminate film structures comprise films bonded together with an adhesive composition, the adhesive composition having barrier properties, e.g., controlling oxygen and/or water vapor transmission rates. The disclosed laminate film structures comprise films made from polymers and/or metallized polymers whereby the weight, thickness, and/or number of film layers has been reduced by using a barrier adhesive in place of a standard adhesive while still achieving similar barrier properties. Methods for forming laminate structures having a desired barrier performance are also disclosed, the methods comprising determining the desired barrier performance of the laminate structure, selecting a barrier adhesive, selecting two or more film layers, including at least a first film layer and a second film layer, applying the barrier adhesive on a surface of the first film layer, and bringing a surface of the second film layer into contact with the barrier adhesive applied on the surface of the first film layer, thereby forming the laminate structure having a desired barrier performance.

    Abstract: A foam stabilizing composition is disclosed. The composition comprises (A) a siloxane cationic surfactant comprising a cationic moiety having the formula Z1-D1-N(Y)a(R)2−a, wherein Z1 is a siloxane moiety, D1 is a divalent linking group, R is H or an unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, subscript a is 1 or 2, and each Y has formula -D-NR13+, where D is a divalent linking group and each R1 is independently an unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms. The composition also comprises (B) an organic cationic surfactant comprising a cationic moiety having the formula Z2-D2-N(Y)b(R)2−b, wherein Z2 is an unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group, D2 is a covalent bond or a divalent linking group, subscript b is 1 or 2, and R, Y, and subscript a, are defined above. An aqueous film-forming foam comprising the composition and method of using the same are also disclosed.

    Abstract: Provided is a composition comprising one or more multifunctional isocyanate compounds and one or more polyols having a specified structure. Also provided is a method of adhering a first substrate to a second substrate to form an assembled article, wherein the method comprises the steps of applying a layer of the composition to a first surface of the first substrate and then bringing the layer of the composition into contact with a first surface of the second substrate. Also provided is an assembled article made by that method.
