    Abstract: A coating system for coating objects with a coating material includes at least one material source for a coating material, which can be fluidically connected to an application device. A feed system can be used for feeding coating material back to its material source in a feeding-back direction over a feed path. It can be determined by means of a detection device whether coating material or some other material is present in a control portion of the feed path, the detection device generating a corresponding output signal. Also specified is a method for coating objects in which it is determined during the feeding back of coating material to its material source whether regions made up of material other than the coating material are being carried along by the coating material to be fed back.

    Abstract: A method for producing vehicles, wherein vehicle bodies are conveyed through multiple system zones of a production system in order to produce vehicles. Different types of work are carried out on the vehicle bodies in two respective system zones which follow each other. The vehicle bodies are conveyed through the system zones of the surface treatment system at least from a corrosion protection treatment to a final assembly using a single conveyor system in a surface treatment system for treating the surface of the vehicle bodies. A surface treatment system is provided for treating the surface of vehicle bodies, having multiple system zones, and the vehicle bodies are treated in a different manner in two respective system zones which follow each other. The surface treatment system is designed such that the vehicle bodies can be conveyed through the system zones of the system using a single conveyor system. A production system for producing vehicles using a surface treatment system is also provided, which is arranged between a corrosion protection system and a final assembly system, the production system including such a surface treatment system.

    Abstract: A device for treating objects having a treatment chamber, which has a wall having a gap extending between first and wall segments. The device includes an apparatus having at least one component which extends from outside of the treatment chamber into the treatment chamber through the gap and can be moved along the gap. A sealing assembly seals the gap leaving at least one passage opening, through which the at least one component extends. The sealing assembly includes a first and a second sealing element, which extend on the first or second wall segment along the gap and have a coupling edge, the coupling edges being complementary to each other. The coupling edges are coupled to each other and, during the movement of the at least one component, separate from each other in front of the passage opening and couple to each other behind the passage opening.

    Abstract: A multi-axis robot having a kinematic chain with a tool member and at least one additional member, the tool member supporting a first tool. The associated robot control mechanism comprises a kinematic control mechanism designed to receive the movement path of the first tool using a parameterizable tool center point and to control members of the kinetic chain in such a way that the tool center point follows the movement path. The robot control mechanism maintains all the members along the kinematic chain of the tool member of another member which supports the second tool in a fixed position, it parameterizes the tool center point on a working point of the second tool, and transfers the movement path of the second tool to the kinematic control mechanism so that the latter, under the condition that the fixed position of the members is maintained, controls the remaining members of the kinematic chain using the newly parameterized tool center point so that the tool center point follows the movement path of the second tool.
