    摘要: A rocker arm for a valve train assembly includes: a first body; a second body mounted for pivotal movement with respect to the first body; and a latching arrangement. The latching arrangement includes a latch pin drivable in response to an external actuator from a first position in which the first body and the second body are un-latched to a second position in which the latch pin latches the first body and the second body together. The latching arrangement includes a piston member and a first biasing member. The piston member is arranged such that if the external actuator attempts to cause the latch pin to be driven from the first position to the second position at a time when the latch pin is prevented from being driven, the piston member moves to bias the biasing member so that the biasing member urges the latch pin to the second position.

    摘要: An actuation apparatus for actuating a component of a switchable valve train device of an internal combustion engine including: a shaft; an actuation lever mounted on the shaft for pivotal motion of the actuation lever between a first position for actuation of the component and a second position for de-actuation of the component; and a biasing means for urging the actuation lever from the second position towards the first position. In use, the biasing means is biased when an actuation source attempts to cause the actuation lever to be in the first position when the component is non-actuatable, such that the biasing means causes the actuation lever to pivot from the second position to the first position, thereby to actuate the component when the component becomes actuatable again.

In use, movement of the rocker arm under action of a cam to cause a valve event moves the actuator arrangement out of contact with the latching arrangement while a contact force between the latching pin and one or other of the first and second bodies maintains the latching pin in the latched configuration.

The lost motion spigot assembly (56) is configured to selectively engage a valve bridge (52) to open the first and second exhaust valves (26, 28), and the engine brake rocker arm assembly (18) is configured to selectively engage the valve bridge (52) to open only the first exhaust valve (26).
