    摘要: A vaccine composition for animals susceptible to infection by canine distemper virus. The vaccine comprises a small but immunologically effective amount of an inactivated canine distemper virus in combination with a non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable immunologic adjuvant. A preferred method of inactivation of canine distemper virus by either exposure of the virus to an inactivating effective amount of binary ethyleneimine or alternatively exposure of the virus to long wavelength ultraviolet light in the presence of a furocoumarin.

    摘要: An apparatus for the deposition of a variable thickness coating onto the inside of a cylindrical tube comprises a variable pressure gas, an cathode coaxially positioned within the cylinder, and a voltage source applied between the cathode and cylindrical tube, which functions as an anode. A radial plasma arc is generated between the anode and cathode at a starting point on the cylinder, and the plasma arc travels down the central axis of the cylinder, providing a helical deposition region on the inside of the cylinder. Selection of the combination of cathode material and gas enable the plasma to generate ionic material which is deposited on the anodic cylinder in the region of the plasma. By varying the pressure of variable pressure gas for each helical path, it is possible to vary the composition of this deposition film.

    摘要: A pigment composition comprising a) a pigment; and b) a phthalocyanine compound having the formula I:MPc(CH.sub.2 NHCO--A).sub.n Iin which Pc represents a phthalocyanine residue which is optionally further substituted by up to an average of one chlorine or bromine atom or by a sulphonic acid group; M is hydrogen or a metal capable of forming a metal phthalocyanine; n is a number ranging from 0.1 to 4.0; and A is C.sub.3 -C.sub.21 alkenyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl, C.sub.7 -C.sub.11 aralkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl, a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic residue or a fused heterocyclic system.
