Abstract:
An exercise apparatus containing a supporting stand and at least one force transmission element, which is associated with a handle element and a pressure exerting element, the apparatus being suitable to exert pressure onto the knee area of a human user and the apparatus allowing the movement of the pressure-exerting element from a first position, in which the pressure-exerting element is in an anterolateral position relative to the body of the user, to a second position of the pressure exerting element, in which the pressure-exerting element is in an posterolateral position, while the pressure-exerting element exerts pressure onto the knee area of the human user. In another aspect, the invention encompasses an exercise apparatus containing a supporting stand and at least one force transmission element, which is associated with a handle element and a pressure-exerting element, in which the force transmission element is movable about a first pivot, wherein the first pivot is positioned in a ventral position relative to the body of a human user.
Abstract:
A system and system for performing adaptive recursive noise reduction with still pixel detection on a video stream is presented. After processing a field pixels that were modified are stored in the field so that processing of later fields uses the modified pixels. Furthermore, the system uses novel still pixel detection routines that include multiple thresholds and multiple windows of pixels so that noise reduction is only performed on still pixels.
Abstract:
A method and system for accumulating stillness characteristics is presented. The method and system generates field stillness characteristics for a current pixel of a current field. The field stillness characteristic is accumulated with an accumulated stillness characteristic that corresponds to a pixel location of the current pixel. The accumulated stillness characteristic includes stillness information regarding previous pixels of previous fields in the same pixel location as the current pixel.
Abstract:
An equipment tray for simplified insertion and removal of electronic equipment to a rack is described. The electronics equipment can be horizontally or vertically mounted. The tray has a first region in which electronics equipment is releasably secured and a second region that provides cable management and exhaust airflow control.
Abstract:
A reconfigurable apparatus for thermal management of an electronics module is described. The apparatus includes a pair of fans generating airflow along respective fan axes. The apparatus also includes a beat sink having one portion disposed in the airflow of the fans and another portion adapted for thermal coupling with the electronics module. The airflows from the fans are in the same direction when the apparatus is arranged in a front-to-back airflow configuration and the airflows are in opposite directions when the apparatus is arranged in a front-to-front airflow configuration. A removable flow director is included in the apparatus when the apparatus is in the front-to-front airflow configuration to direct the airflow from the first fan towards the second fan.
Abstract:
An outsole having a body member with an inner-structure including a plurality of arcuately shaped ribs extending substantially from the medial to lateral sides thereof. The plurality of arcuately shaped ribs are spaced forwardly, rearwardly, and generally below the metatarsophalangeal joints of a wearer's foot inserted in footwear constructed from the outsole. The inner-structure includes a plurality of sidebars extending forwardly and rearwardly from each of the plurality of arcuately shaped ribs to promote arcuate flexure in front of, behind, and between each of the ribs. The body member includes a peripheral member spaced along the perimeter and connected to the ends of each of the plurality of arcuately shaped ribs, toe and heel support structures configured to reduce flexure in spaces defined between those structures and the peripheral member. The outsole also includes a tread member and a stabilizing member imposed between, and connected to each of, the body member and the tread member.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for expressing as a number the relative brightness of artificial illumination as it is perceived by the average observer. There is extracted (i.e., detected) from the illumination to be measured, a blue-appearing narrow band, a green-appearing narrow band, a yellow-appearing narrow band and a red-orange-appearing narrow band. From these extracted bands are generated six different signals: a signal expressed as (aB) where (a) is about 0.23 and (B) is the watts of energy in the blue band, a signal expressed as (bG) where (b) is about 0.97 and (G) is the watts of energy in the green band, a signal expressed as (cR) where (c) is about 0.33 and (R) is the watts of energy in the red-orange band, a signal expressed as (dY) where (d) is about 0.19 and (Y) is the watts of energy in the yellow band, a signal expressed as (eG) where (e) is about 0.25 and (G) is the watts of energy in the green band, and a signal expressed as (fR) where (f) is about 0.25 and (R) is the watts of energy in the red-orange band. These signals are combined in the following manner: aB+bG+cR-dY+(the larger of eG and fR minus the smaller of eG and fR). These combined signals are expressed as a number which is indicative of the relative brightness of artificial illumination as perceived by the average observer.
Abstract:
A method to determine oxidative and reductive substances in food, which is realized with a testing specimen and a measuring device, and which comprises steps: pre-processing an appropriate amount of a food specimen; dissolving a given amount of the pre-processed food specimen in a buffer solution; making the buffer solution dissolving a tested material contact with a formulated layer on the testing specimen to proceed a redox reaction; the measuring device supplying a reaction potential to reaction electrodes of the testing specimen to obtain an electrical signal; and obtaining a content of the tested material from the electrical signal. Besides, the testing specimen and the measuring device used to implement the abovementioned method are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method and system for managing metadata residing in multiple information sources are described. In one embodiment, the method includes providing a user interface that represents a single point for user access to source metadata residing in source metadata repositories maintained by various data management applications. The method also includes creating extended metadata that contains additional information about the source metadata, and storing the extended metadata in an extended metadata repository. The method further includes enabling a user to view, via the single access point, the source metadata residing in the source metadata repositories and the extended metadata residing in the extended metadata repository.
Abstract:
A system, method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium for generating a code for a semiconductor manufacturing system are provided. A first code segment is derived from a customer code uniquely associated with a customer. At least one additional code segment is derived from at least one attribute selected for a semiconductor product ordered by the customer. A configure-to-service code is generated in a service guide system from the first code segment and the at least one additional code segment.
