Abstract:
Disclosed is a wearable robot for assisting a wrist, including: a plurality of flexible actuators; and a control unit configured to control any one of the plurality of flexible actuators to be contracted or relaxed according to a wrist movement of a wearer. Each of the plurality of flexible actuators includes: a driving part which is contractively deformed by a current or transfer heat applied from the control unit or is relaxed when the heat is lost, and a refrigerant circulating part which is implemented to surround the driving part and circulates a refrigerant so that the contractively deformed driving part is cooled under control of the control unit.
Abstract:
Proposed is a technology which relates to a device for posture correction and Kegel exercises and is employed in a pair of foot-protecting means provided on the left and right feet to enable posture correction and Kegel exercises during walking without significant expense of time and cost. The device includes an upper plate, a lower plate, and a spiral compression part provided between the upper plate and the lower plate, wherein the upper plate rotates relative to the lower plate during vertical compression of the spiral compression part, the spiral compression part is coupled to the foot-protecting means of each of the left and right sides, and rotation directions of the spiral compression parts of the left and right sides are opposite to each other.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for use of an improved stretching device providing various stretches and manipulation of a user's muscle groups, including lower body muscle groups. Movement of the upper and lower support members can be achieved with a controller or wireless controller, such as a cellular phone executing an application operatively connected via a transceiver of the stretching device. The upper support member and lower support member may be independently controlled by a secondary motor assembly at a rotational connection between the support members. Some embodiments may provide removable support members for switching between left and right-side manipulation of a user's left and right legs with a single device. Other embodiments may include a track to allow for a sliding movement of the motor assembly or the upper and lower support members between left and right sides of the stretching device.
Abstract:
Apparatus for exercise the musculature and mobility of the joints in the neck wherein the apparatus comprises an upper part 4, a bottom part and a connecting element 3 connecting the upper and the bottom part, and wherein the upper part 4, the bottom part and the connecting element 3 defines a space in which the head of a user can be placed, characterized in that to the upper part 4 there is attached a cradle 5 in which the head of the user can rest and the lower part has attached a pillow for neck support 2.
Abstract:
A system and method is provided for conditioning a group of muscles and joints of a subject including: a movement assembly including an arm having a handle, such that an angular position is created by the subject's joint when the subject grips the handle, a brake, connected to the movement assembly, configured to apply a work load to the movement assembly, and a sensor configured to sense the angular position of the movement assembly; and a computing device, in communication with the sensor and the brake, configured to sense the movement of the movement assembly relative to the brake, create an encoded signal representing the movement assembly and the movement over a period of time, and modify the brake to vary the work load during a movement of the movement assembly based on timing at the angular position and a predetermined regimen.

Abstract:
A method for gait rehabilitation, comprising, identifying at least one deficient gait element; exercising said deficient gait element individually using a rehabilitation apparatus; and exercising said deficient gait element in concert with at least one other gait element using said rehabilitation apparatus.
Abstract:
A system for arm therapy of a user comprises a device for determining the position of the user, a first drive, an upper arm rotation module, an upper arm cuff, at least one hinge movably connecting the upper arm cuff and the first drive, a second drive, and a rotation drive provided on the upper arm rotation module itself. The upper arm cuff is connected to the arm of the user and has a substantially hollow-cylindrical shape when it is closed. The first drive and the second drive are adapted to place the upper arm rotation module in a defined spatial position, and the rotation drive is adapted to turn the upper arm cuff about its main axis relative to the outer part of the upper arm rotation module.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method and apparatus for repeatably positioning a forearm at a plurality of angular positions for medical analysis. A forearm of a patient is positioned in a support channel within reach of a rotatable handle. The handle can be locked in a number of angular positions, providing a counteractive force as the handle is rotated. The patient rotates and applies a torque force to the handle at selected rotational angles. The forearm and wrist can be scanned in these locked position, and applied torque can be measured to evaluate joint stability.
