    摘要： According to one embodiment, a characteristic correcting device includes: a correction filter configured to correct sound quality characteristics of a plurality of bands in a frequency range of an input signal based on a frequency characteristic which is set in advance to generate an output signal; an input module configured to input a surrounding sound signal of sound around an output device outputting the output signal; and an adjusting module configured to reduce the number of the bands of which the sound quality characteristics are to be corrected of the bands in the frequency range of the input signal in accordance with an increase in amplitude of the surrounding sound signal which is input.

    摘要： According to one embodiment, the electronic device displays on the screen the locus of each of a plurality of strokes which are handwritten by a handwriting input operation which is executed on the touch-screen display. The electronic device stores, in the storage medium, first time-series information including a plurality of stroke data corresponding to the plurality of strokes and indicating an order in which the plurality of strokes were handwritten. The electronic device selects the process-target time-series information part from the first time-series information in accordance with the range designation operation which is executed on the touch-screen display.

    摘要： A signal bandwidth expanding apparatus configured to expand a bandwidth of an input signal. The apparatus includes: a time acquiring section configured to acquire time information; a priority holding section configured to hold priority information of processes, each process divided from a process of bandwidth expansion; a controller configured to: sequentially perform the processes from a process having a higher priority using the priority information held by the priority holding section, calculate a time taken for the process using the time acquiring section when the process is ended, and control whether or not a next process having a secondary priority is performed according to the time taken for the process; and a frequency balance correcting section configured to change a frequency characteristic of a signal expanded in a bandwidth according to the process performed by the controller.

Linearly polarized light impinging on a dichroic surface at an incident angle smaller than 45 degrees and then impinging on a polarization beam splitting surface at an incident angle larger than 45 degrees is referred to as first incident-angle light. A wavelength which is longer than a wavelength at the maximum transmittance of the dichroic surface for the first incident-angle light and at which the transmittance of the dichroic surface for the first incident-angle light is 10% is referred to as Wa, and a wavelength range shorter than Wa is referred to as W. The polarization beam splitting surface has a characteristic in which its transmittance for the first incident-angle light in the wavelength range W is 5% or lower.

    摘要： An image display apparatus includes a light source for supplying illumination light, a reflection type display element for modulating the illumination light into image light by reflecting the light, an illumination optical system for guiding the illumination light to the reflection type display element, and a projection optical system for guiding the image light to an observer. The image light is incident on the projection optical system via at least a portion of the illumination optical system. The illumination optical system has a part, in an area where both the illumination light and the image light pass, which changes an optical action depending on a state of incident light. The part acts to deflect the illumination light to decrease an incident angle with respect to the reflection type display element as compared with a case where the part does not exist.
