摘要： There are provided a video viewing system and method thereof which are capable of easily grasping the usage status of a plurality of video groups. An on-air broadcast video, edited video, and raw material video are stored in a video storage unit 106, and mutual correlations obtained from a series of correlations of these video groups are stored in a correlation information storage unit 108. When any one video of the on-air broadcast video, edited video, and raw material video is specified, a correlation information retrieval unit 107 retrieves the mutual correlation of the specified video, and a frequency-of-use calculation unit 109 generates the frequency-of-use of the specified video in other video groups based on the retrieved correlation. The generated frequency-of-use is graphed and displayed on a display unit.

An on-air video, an edited video, and a material video are stored in a video storage part 106, and a mutual corresponding relation obtained from series of corresponding relations of these video groups is stored in a corresponding information storage part 108. When one of the on-air video, the edited video, and the material video is designated, a corresponding information search part 107 specifies other video corresponding to the designated video with reference to the mutual corresponding relation. The corresponding relation between the designated video and the specified video is visually displayed on a display part 102.

On the other hand, the image feature data generating units 21a to 21c also generates the image feature data based on the broadcasted programs and stores the image feature data in the program image feature data storing unit 22. The viewing program specifying unit 23 specifies the viewed program by matching the image feature data received from the image information transmitting unit 13 and the image feature data stored in the program image feature data storing unit 22.
