摘要:
A system and method for diagnosing hemostasis utilizing a communication network. A blood hemostasis analyzer tests a blood sample and provides a parameter indicative of hemostasis. The blood hemostasis analyzer is communicatively coupled via the communication network to an analysis tool. The analysis tool includes an algorithm operable on the parameter to provide a result. The diagnostic result may indicate normal hemostasis, a coagulopathy or other condition, and may provide a recommended course of treatment.

A procedure for hemostasis and blood management, particularly for cardiovascular procedures, provides: sampling instructions, i.e., when to draw blood samples and how to pre-treat the blood samples, a decision tree to assist the interpretation of hemostasis analysis results allowing for the identification of various coagulopathies, and treatment suggestions related to the hemostasis analysis results. The analysis, interpretation and identification may be conducted by a suitably programmed computer.

A hemostasis analyzer, such as the Thrombelastograph® (TEG®) hemostasis analyzer is utilized to measure continuously in real time, the hemostasis process from the initial fibrin formation, through platelet-fibrin interaction and lysis to generate blood hemostasis parameters. The measured blood hemostasis parameters permit preparation of an individualized assessment of ischemic event risk and individualized treatment of a subject.

The measured blood hemostasis parameters permit determination of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia II complex (HiT II).

A food processor implement for converting food articles into a stringy nature, includes: a base; a die member mounted on the base and formed with a plurality of die openings; a pusher member mounted on the base in spaced relation to the die member to define a space between the two members for receiving the food article to be processed; and a drive for driving one of the members towards the other after the food article has been received in the space between the two members, to force the food article through the plurality of die openings, and thereby to convert the food article to a stringy nature. In the described preferred embodiment, the die member is fixed to the base, and the pusher member is manually driven towards the die member.

A cooking device particularly useful for cooking pasta, includes: an elongated receptacle for receiving the pasta to be cooked and water to be heated for cooking the pasta, the receptacle being closed at one end and open at its opposite end; a sieve attached to the open end of the receptacle for removing the water after the pasta has been cooked therein; and a cover attached over the sieve for covering the sieve during the cooking of the pasta, and detachable therefrom to permit removing the water from the receptacle via the sieve after the pasta has been cooked. Detachment of the cover from the sieve is facilitated by inter-engaging cam surfaces effective, upon the initial rotation of the cover, to move the cover axially outwardly with respect to the sieve in order to release to the atmosphere any negative pressure generated within the receptacle by condensation of vapors or cooling of the water. Handling of the receptacle while hot is facilitated by providing the receptacle with an outer sleeve of heat-insulating material, and/or with a heat-insulating handle.
